mini diy > ric rac

After seeing this dress, I knew I wanted to add some ric-rac to the collar of one of my dresses. I choose this pretty pink one because I hadn't really been wearing it much but with my new bright pink hair, I think it looks really fun!

Here are the before and after photos...
Not a super big change, but I think it makes the dress extra cute. And...it was so easy. I have recently made friends with the glue gun so I asked it to help me with this project. I just started the ric-rac at the back where the zipper is and glued it around the neckline all the way to the other side of the zipper. Easy? Easy.

Oh yeah, and just a note to self...

Let me know if you get glue gun happy and decide to attach some ric-rac to jazz up your outfit!

  7. Sometimes I put my bra on not thinking about what I'm wearing and forget what's happening until I get to work and think...wow. You're an idiot. I love this dress. i love the ric rac. I love you. So much love.

  8. I thought I was safe with a white bra yesterday (isn't the whole point of white bras that they don't show through stuff?) but NO, I spent the day with gleaming neon bright boobs poking through my T-shirt. *sigh*

    The ric-rac is super-cute!

  21. I just thrifted a dress for my toddler that has ric-rac and I was just a little jealous. Now I can add some to one of mine! I am big on throwing everything in the washer though...I wonder if the glue gun glue will hold. Did you use fabric glue sticks or just regular ones?

  22. i just used a regular glue stick. no work yet on whether it lasts through the wash! Another option would be sewing the ric-rac on by running a stitch through the middle of the ric-rac. that would definitely hold in the wash!

  23. I really like this. So simple yet it does so much, I can think of a dress that black ric-rac would look perfect on!
