hair bow tutorial

Happy Thanksgiving to all of Canadian pals out there! I have been busy in the kitchen all morning making a (hopefully) yummy pie and some Tofurky for Ivan and I to take to one of our many family dinners. Yum!

The other day I filmed a little video tutorial on how I get my hair to look like a bow. There are a couple really good tutorials such as this one that Liz shared back in the spring (which I just spent 15 minutes looking for and apparently the page no longer exists?) and this one that Katie and Elsie shared last week.

Even though those are good I thought I would share mine anyways. My hair is much shorter than those lovely ladies and my method works well for me. The first one I show you is a super easy way to just make your hair kind of look like it is in a bow. The second way is more of a "traditional" bow. Enjoy!

  1. I say this every time you vlog but you are so cute, friendly, and personable! I love it. I giggled out loud at "that's usually where a ponytail goes...unless you're a pony." haha. =]

  2. Dear Elycia,
You should make a shit ton more videos. You are so very entertaining, cute, and listenable. I have the same length hair, so I must try this out.

  7. Thank you for this! I gave up on the bow look for my hair because it's a lot like yours and I figured it wasn't long enough to make this work. You showed me I can after all. :)

  17. Aww! Your video was so adorable, I love your vlogs! I may try the hair bow thing but I feel like it's going to fail since I have 2398408392 layers in my hair right now. It's definitely on my to-do list though! I love it :)

  19. You are adorable and hilarious. (Ponytails are, of course, usually found on the head. Unless you're a pony.)

Thank you for this. I always feel a little left out of hair tutorials because I have superfine fairly short hair, but I think I could make something like this work!
