recipe :: cereal

Ok, so I think that cereal is quite possibly the easiest thing ever to make. Ivan often requests homemade cereal for breakfast so I thought I would show you guys what I use to make yummy cereal.
You can use basically whatever you would like. Just make sure you have a "base". Ivan likes bran buds but you could use any kind of flakes or even a granola type base. Then you get to go crazy and pick some yummy ingredients that you would like to have in your cereal. I picked pumpkin seeds, pecans and dried cranberries. Also...not pictured...the special ingredient, cinnamon. Cinnamon makes everything instantly delicious. Unless of course you aren't a fan of cinnamon. To which I ask, how is that possible?
Get yourself some kind of container and fill it mostly to the top with your base. Make sure you leave room for the rest of your ingredients! Normally I am a big fan of measuring and specific amounts but with cereal, anything goes. At this point I basically just dump in a few handfuls of the rest of my ingredients, sprinkle on some cinnamon and then close the lid on my container and shake it up. Please make sure the lid is on tightly before you shake it...I may have had a little mishap when I was shaking mine.
Pour into a bowl, add some soy/rice/almond milk and enjoy! Sometimes I add fresh fruit as well, extra yum!

  3. It seems delicious!
    Currently for breakfast I have fresh fruits in a bowl of yoghurt, and "puffed rice slices(?)" or "swedish krisprolls-like bread" (I don't know how thoses are called in English ôO) with jam. I love it!

    Next time I want a bit of change, I'll try your recipe! Plus I love soy and almond milk ^_^

    Ah... Breakfast was and will always be my favourite meal... :)
