craft night :: cameras!

As you may remember, Chantilly and I hosted a craft night last Tuesday where we made some cute plush cameras. If you weren't able to make it to the craft night you can watch it anytime you like because we recorded it as I'm sure I've mentioned. Chantilly and I were really excited that so many people joined us and we are absolutely planning more craft nights in the future! We loved seeing the cameras everyone made so we thought we would put together a little post to share them with you guys!

my 2012 photo project :: 52 weeks of instax

I already told you guys about the first year long project I'm working on so I thought I would tell you about the second one now. As a side note, I'm doing three and having that many going on is actually helping me remember to do each one. Oh, and I'm actually doing the monthly photo a day challenges on Instagram as well so I guess that makes four! Ok, back to the second project...

Last year Kaylah did a 52 weeks of Instax project and I thought it looked super fun so I decided to do one this year. The first three photos were all taken in my office which tells me I really need to get out more. I'm going to try to capture more things that will remind me of something that happened that week!

I have a super exciting busy day today. Kaylah and I worked on so many fun things over the weekend and we seriously can't wait to share them with you! I'm also super excited about something Chantilly and I worked on that we will "premiere" tomorrow! What a fun week this will be.

what i wore :: to the black lodge

 :: head to toe ::
glasses :: Warby Parker
ear warmer/headband :: c/o susannahbean
shirt :: Threadless
jeans :: garage
shoes :: F21

I found this shirt through Pinterest before Christmas and right away I knew that I absolutely had to get one for Ivan for Christmas. We had been on a Twin Peaks watching marathon and I was so excited when I spotted this because I knew he would love it. And then I realized that I would be so jealous if Ivan had one and I didn't so I bought myself one for Christmas too. I even wrapped it up and put it in my stocking. Twin Peaks fans...isn't this shirt awesome!?

Susannah was so sweet to send me this head scarf/ear warmer. I love the style and I sometimes even wear it in the house when i'm not going anywhere! You can grab one at her shop if you love it as much as I do! Oh and while you're there check these headbands out...so adorable!

Lately Farva has been super curious while I'm taking photos. I think he likes getting on the blog and having people tell him he's cute. What a little goof.

5 fave friday

5. The new Indie Business: Compass e-course.
I took Indie Business 2.0 once upon a time and loved it. It looks like Leigh-Ann, Jill and Kyla did an awesome job and covered tons of topics in this new e-course.

4. I love the shape of this dress.

3. Parada Creations...such a pretty shop.

2. Meredith's Crochet Valentine tutorial is way too adorable.
It's not just for Valentines either! You can totally do this to any piece of paper. Pop over to Meredith's blog to see what else she did!

1. After finishing my chevron afghan I thought I wanted to do a smaller project but I realized I really love making big blankets! This has officially inspired my next project. I love making blankets!

Ivan and I are going to visit Kaylah and Kevin this weekend so I have a few things to do today before we leave. Also, there is still time if you have any suggestions for bloggy things you would like to see Kaylah and I collaborate on!

Have a great Friday!

photos :: box of cameras

Last weekend a friend of mine gave me two cardboard boxes full of cameras that someone she knew was getting rid of. I was so excited going through the boxes and now I have a ton more cute cameras to display in our home and there are even some that I will probably use! Here are some of them for you to peek at...
It is so hard for me to choose a favourite camera from the bunch. There is also this tiny little one that I will show you another time, it's so tiny and adorable.

a very bloggy weekend

This is the most jam-packed blog related week for me, and I love it! Chantilly and I had such a great time early in the week doing blog stuff including our craft night, which you can watch here if you missed it. To continue my blog tour of North America I will be visiting Kaylah this weekend and we are planing on doing a bunch of fun bloggy things together.
We definitely already have some things in mind but we are really interested in hearing what you guys might like to see! Do you have any questions you would like to ask us? Any things that we are super pro at that you would like to see a tutorial on or tips about? We are super excited and would love to hear some feedback so feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments, email Kaylah or I directly or follow this link to fill out the handy form that Kaylah made!

what i wore :: rainbow sweater

:: head to toe ::
glasses :: Warby Parker
dress :: ModCloth
sweater :: Free People (from about 14 years ago...yikes!)
tights :: Urban Outfitters
boots :: c/o Blowfish

You may be asking yourself "Is she serious with this sweater?" Let me answer that by saying, yes. Yes I am completely serious. I have had this sweater since at least Grade 9, I may have even got it earlier than that, I can't remember. I wore it so much in Grade 9, it was my favourite. Since then it has been one of those things that I never planned on wearing again but just couldn't get rid of. Well guess what? I did end up wearing it again. See? Sometimes I surprise even myself! Have you guys ever done this? Fun fact...you know the show What Not to Wear? One of the people who they were making over had this same sweater! My friends and I thought it was hilarious that I had the same one.

Ok so, that's my story. I hope everyone is having a good day!

Here is the link to the UStream channel so you can join us. Also, if you guys/gals want to chat about what's going on in the craft night on twitter use the hashtag #craftnight. We are super pumped! Hope to see you all soon!

Oh yeah, did we mention that the dress code is business casual? ;) Hurry! Go change!

my 2012 photo project :: 366 colours

Hi!

So as you may remember, last year I started a 365 project where I was taking a photo a day for the whole year. Well, I forgot a day and then stopped. I decided to start over on my birthday...then I forgot a day somewhere along the way in that project too.

So this year I decided I needed a theme for my project to help me remember to do it. Themes totally help me remember things! So, this year, I decided to take a photo each day but with a colours theme. The idea just hit me one day and I feel like this is perfect for me. Here is my progress so far.
Each week I'm doing a different colour! I'm not sure how many colours I will do before I decide to repeat but I want all the weeks to have a colour gradient effect when I put them beside each other. Some days are more in your face with the colour and other days are a bit more subtle and I love that! I am having so much fun with this so far.

Are you doing a 365...excuse me...366 project this year? I have 2 others that I'm doing as well but I will share those another time.

5 fave friday

5. These way too cute Valentines that Kate shared!
You can download them here to use on your blog or to send to people!

4. This idea is very interesting!
Go visit their blog to get a full explanation of what's going on here. (Hint: it helps you realize what clothes you are & are not wearing)

3. The illustration on this shirt is so cute!
Kitten Comfort Tee

2. I love, love, love this print.

1. This print is pretty great too.

Today I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new bed (take two) and working on some fun things. This morning I woke up with the greatest mullet in history and Ivan couldn't stop laughing at it. I finally looked in the mirror and it was spiky! I have been using argan oil in my hair some nights and it really makes my hair crazy in the morning. Yikes.
