I really want to use this dress as a pattern to make a bunch more dresses like it in different colours and fabrics. It is so comfy! Just ignore those silly wrinkles on the back of the dress. I didn't realize they were there until I saw the photo. Not that I am the best about getting rid of wrinkles anyways...ironing is overrated. Actually we have a steamer, so I don't have a good excuse for having wrinkles.

These tights are my new favourite. I love that they are really neutral but then have that little heart at the back. They are sheer but not as fragile as most sheer tights I own.

It seems like I am having a few internet issues this morning so this took forever to post because I had to figure out what the heck was wrong. It seems to be working now and that's good because I have a full day on interneting ahead of me.

dress :: Happily Ever Crafter Dress c/o ModCloth

I had been eyeing the A Beautiful Mess for ModCloth collection ever since it was announced so I was super excited when I was asked if I would like to receive something from it to style. I chose what is now probably the most versatile piece of clothing in my closet. Elsie did a really great job designing this collection and this dress is definitely the thing that I have been reaching for in my closet most often now. It is super comfy, a great length, nice material and the little detail on the front just makes it perfect!

I just can't help matching things to my hair which is why I picked out these tights. They are the same kind of purpley pink as my hair, just in a darker version (not anymore though, I changed my hair this weekend!). And of course I love green with pinks and purples.

Ivan and I had a great weekend visiting Kaylah and Kevin which included rollerskating and air hockey, quite possibly two of the funnest things ever. Today I am excited to get a ton of blog planning done. It is supposed to rain all week so I am going to take advantage of the yucky weather by staying inside, cleaning, blogging, photo editing, emailing and crocheting. Sounds pretty good to me!

Photos :: Penny Collection

When we were in Chicago for Renegade back in September Kaylah and I both got pretty excited when we saw these penny collection books in one of the gift shops. I love collecting those little souvenir pennies but I end up leaving them in a coat pocket or the purse I was using that day. I had recently been finding a few of my older pennies so I just had to get a book so that I could keep them all in one place. I know, super dorky collection, but I love them!
Photobucket
Hehe! Isn't the little 'Penny Passport' so silly? I love it.
The reason I love these pennies so much is because they remind me of what I was doing when I got them. I don't have the best memory but I always remember getting excited about seeing a penny machine and choosing my favourite design. I am not a big souvenir person but these are really the perfect souvenir for me.
Photobucket
This is the oldest penny in my collection (that I can find anyways). Ivan and I got this penny at a big rest stop while we on our way down to Minnesota to visit my stepsister and her family back in 2008. If I am not somewhere specific then I like to get a penny that tells me some little fact about where I am...like the Monarch Buterfly being the State insect of Illinois!
Photobucket
This penny came from a trip down to Florida to visit my dad and step mom. It was 2009 and that was the year that Florida was unusually freezing! The day we went to the Edison & Ford Museum was so cold. We wore winter jackets and I remember wishing that I had mitts.
Photobucket
My Splash Lagoon penny is from the first day that Ivan and I met Kaylah and Kevin. We took photos behind those things that you just stick your head through (you know what I'm talking about right?) and got souvenir pennies. What a great day :)

I have five more pennies to share but I will save those for another day because I don't want to overload your brain with awesomeness. Actually, I do have one more thing to tell you that may cause brain overloading...I just discovered that there is a website and an app for finding souvenir penny machines! I am going to start checking if there will be any machines when I go places!

PS. A big huge happy birthday to Andrea!!!

What I Wore :: Matching

ring :: Group Hug Ring Set c/o ModCloth
skirt :: Musee de Cluny Skirt c/o ModCloth
belt :: Portable Pocket Belt c/o ModCloth
tights :: Walmart
shoes :: c/o B.A.I.T.

Most days I really love to wear tights that compliment the colour of something else I am wearing. But...it is also really fun for me to wear tights that perfectly match something in my outfit. I forgot I had these coral tights until I pulled them out for this outfit post and then they were fresh on my mind while I was putting this outfit together.

This belt has pretty quickly become my favourite; I just love that the buckle looks like a safety pin. It also comes with a little pouch that attaches to the belt, although I haven't found the perfect outfit to wear the pouch with.

And these shoes! I'm totally crazy about them and I have already worn them quite a few times since they arrived at my door, including to one of the weddings we went to last weekend.

It is so unbelievably dark out today, it's like night inside the house! It was really gloomy and foggy yesterday too. I totally almost wimped out when I left the house to go to the Blurb event yesterday. I needed a pep talk from Ivan to brave the gross weather and make the trip to Toronto. I'm really happy that I went though, it was not as scary as I thought it would be. Everyone I met was so nice and friendly! I even met someone who read my blog and we got to chat a lot which was awesome! Hi Jeanette!

I hope you all have a great day. I'm going to be working on not letting the dreary day put me to sleep!

Thrift Finds :: Forever Decorating

It has been quite a while since I have shared any thift finds. I haven't really been heading to the thrift stores too often in an attempt to save money. However, in the last few months I have picked up a few things here and there.

I almost died when I spotted this beauty. The colours are just so amazing that I had to take it home. I was going to put it on the floor and store some paper in it but this pretty thing got promoted to my desktop where I use it to store my everyday notebooks. Something so lovely can't be left on the floor!
Photobucket

The new piece in this photo is the flower paint by number on the far right. This is my second flower paint by number, I just think they are really pretty. This one is evern signed by the artist on the front. It's nice to see someone who is proud of their work. Hey, I think I would be too if I ever finished a paint by number. Those things look intense!
Photobucket

I picked up this cute little umbrella ring holder a little while ago so that I would have a cute way to display my rings. At least I think it is supposed to be a ring holder. That's what I'm using it for anyways!
Photobucket

And finally...the cutest little kittens ever (other than my own) smiling and looking silly. I can't really turn down stupidly cute looking cat anything.
Photobucket
I love slowly adding new little things to our home. I think it will forever be a work in progress!

Today I am off to Toronto to attend a photography event put on by Blurb. I'm pretty excited! I hope you guys all have a great Tuesday.
