We're pretty sure that we will be giving away herbs as wedding favours.  I would be so excited to get some herbs at a wedding! We are also thinking that they will also be part of the table decorations.

We planted this "test" run about 2 weeks ago and most of them are coming up really well. We probably need to plant the real ones this weekend! yikes! Here is how they are coming along...

If you are married...what did you give out as wedding favours?

  3. I'm not married, but I'm a photographer who has shot many weddings. My most fave wedding favor was a mix cd. Actually, it was a ridiculous centerpiece with floating candles that I won for being the shortest person at the table. I kept that thing for YEARS until it was just not maintainable at all. The mix cd was my favorite in theory, except for how it was the WORST mix cd I have ever received. The music was so bad, and this is coming from someone who loves pop music and country music along with EVERYTHING else. However, I always thought the mix cds were the BEST idea. Cheap, easy, fun, and everyone listens to music.

  6. what a cute idea! i love it! good luck to you, i don't have a green thumb at all it's more like a blue thumb, i'd probably kill them all >.<

we had a beaach destination wedding and only had a small group of guests (thankfully.) so we gave photo albums with ocean themes charms wrapped around them. i think one of my favorite wedding favors was a piece of heart shaped paper with wild flower seeds inside. all you had to do was plant the paper and let it grow! it was the one thing i've ever been able to actually grow, so that was pretty exciting for me.

have fun planning! and remember it's your day, enjoy it!

  17. My hubs and I had personalized coffee mugs made .... and filled them with some apple cider mix (cheap, but still good) and a couple cinnamon sticks ...
We fell in love in the fall and spent day after day drinking apple cider and talking so these were truly memorable for us ...
Plus, the mugs have both our wedding date and our URL on them, and family members STILL use them now 5+ years later :)

  21. this is honestly such a great and green gift to give away at a wedding. also personal and sentimental. i imagine it would be so cool if a group of friends did this together each time they got married, so each person had a small "wedding garden" in their backyard of all the de-potted and planted herbs, flowers, etc, they received as wedding favors.

i am not getting married anytime soon, so i haven't even begun to think of favors yet!

  23. We gave out a cd of music from the wedding. It started with the ceremony songs all the way through the Father/Daughter dance and dollar dance songs. It is a great way to bring back memories of that day by listening to the music that was played. I really love the herb idea!

  33. I'm not married yet, but whenever it does happen, I was planning on knitting a facecloth for each guest, and giving a small bar of hand made soap. But now that I see the herbs, they look like an even better idea!
At the most recent wedding I went to, they gave out two iris bulbs to each person. Those were great!

All we really care about is to get a better camera so we can take pictures at the Gathering Of the Juggalos and to get married. <3
