28 things - thing 2

People ask me pretty often if I wish I had siblings. I can't really say for sure because I only know what it feels like not to have them. Yeah, in some ways it would probably be cool but I really don't like people touching my things when I'm not around...and I hear brothers and sisters are all about that kind of thing ;)

Wedding

Hi!

A little while ago, after seeing this and this, I decided that I wanted to make all of the bouquets for the wedding out of fabric. I finally went fabric shopping yesterday to pick out some pretty ivory and yellow fabrics because tomorrow I'm having a few helpers over to work on the bouquets. When I got home from fabric shopping I got kind of inspired and couldn't resist testing out a few flowers.

The photos don't really show a lot of detail but the ivory flowers look soooo prety! I am super excited about finishing the bouquets and although having people helping me usually stresses me out (I can be super picky), I am excited to have some extra hands for this project.

I also tried my hand at a boutonniere. I'm not sure if all the boys will need one or just Ivan because he might be the only one wearing a jacket. Either way I think it turned out pretty cute! I got inspired by this one then just kind of made it up as I went along. So what do you think...with or without the leaf?

If anyone is interested I could possibly put together a DIY to show you how I made the bouquets and the boutonniere.

Yeah! I'm so excited about working on these more tomorrow! Today we're going to spend as much time outside as possible! It is beautiful out!

28 things - thing 1

I thought it would be fun to do a countdown to my birthday by sharing one fact about myself each day up until May 26th (my birthday). I will still do normal posts, these will usually just be bonuses :)

what i wore > yarn hair

head to toe:
dress - vintage, The Paraders
belt - thrifted
Power Puff Girl ring - don't remember (hehe)
shoes - Keds

I am wearing this outfit as we speak. I really like wearing a bunch of different tones of the same colour. That's why I chose that colour yarn for my hair. So fun! Ideally I would have also painted my nails but I didn't have time!

Tonight we're going to Ivan's dad's for dinner, his Grandma always cooks us yummy food! Then later, as I mentioned I will tell you who won the giveaway!

what i'm working on > today

Hello!

Today I am going to take some photos for a little project I am working on. Not a big deal, just something cute that I will be doing to count down to my birthday! I will share what it is tomorrow afternoon! For now here is a clue...

I am latte'd up, exercised, showered, now I just need to stop being afraid of the wind and head upstairs! It is so crazy windy I can't even believe it! I may try to take a little video to show you!

I'll be back later to announce the giveaway winner so make sure you get your entries in if you would like a chance to win! What do you have on the to-do list for today?

what i did > big haircut

Remember when I said I was giving Ivan a haircut? Well here are his glamourous before and after shots.
I love Ivan's excitement face in the after shot.

It took quite a long time...almost the entire Big Shiny Tunes CD. Any one remember that one? First I cut it all over with scissors, then I used clippers to make the back more uniform. I am not so good at the around the ears areas but I managed to get them looking ok. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with my haircutting skills. Maybe I missed my calling. That is if there is a demand for a men's hairdresser who takes forever to give a haircut ;).

Do you cut your bf/husband's hair? Or your own? Any tips and tricks?

what i did > Sample Sale

Hi!

On Sunday I went with Ivan's cousin and aunt to a sample sale. I had never been to one before. This was in Mississauga at a kind of warehouse I guess. There were all different things going on in different parts of the building, including a pet show! Unfortunately I didn't check out the pet show. I was hoping to find wedding shoes at the sale but no such luck...I'm kind of running out of time. (I actually found a pair on ModCloth last night that would have been perfect but they were sold out already!!)

Anyways...I didn't take any photos in the shoe part (I should have, there were rows and rows of shoes!), but I did snap some photos of some belts that I wanted to buy but resisted the temptation. (my trick worked this time) I am trying really hard not to spend money!

Eeep! Aren't those awesome? I think I might try to make one like the one with the scallops. So pretty!

What did you get up to this easter weekend?

ps. have you entered the giveaway?

pps. i totally forgot to mention this before but I did a little video for Lauren's blog party last week.

what i wore > bows and stripes

head to toe:
headband - made by me
dress - Symbol of Style Dress c/o ModCloth
tights - Urban Outfitters
socks - restyled tights, Walmart
shoes - Grace Note HeelModCloth
cat - Farva, Hamilton SPCA

I just got this dress and I love it. The wheels in my head have been turning with different ways I could wear it. I'm thinking different belts, using that belt as a hair bow, pairing it with lots of red, maybe try some pink...I should write these down...wait...I am.

My favourite part of the outfit though is Farva. He really goes with anything.

Hi! Ok, so it is technically Sunday but I haven't gone to sleep yet so it still feels like Saturday to me.  Today Ivan and I were at a wedding and it was a beautiful day!

I'm getting pretty excited about our wedding. It is coming up so soon and we still have a bunch of stuff to do. This week Ivan and I worked on putting together playlists for cocktails, dinner and the reception. We decided not to hire a DJ and instead use our computer and a sound system. Did anyone do that/plan to do that for their wedding? Also, one more question...what are some songs that you think are essential for a fun dance party? I really love fun dance parties!

I hope you all had a great Saturday! Here are a couple photos of Ivan and I from today.
