Organizing Photos

I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only one with a huge drawer full of instant photos waiting to be organized/displayed. Quite a few months ago I found this cute 'Places and Faces' album at the thrift store and the other day I finally took some time to stick in a few photos. I just over half filled it and it is already kind of bulging because all of the photos are lined up in the center. I'm not mad at it though. Worst case scenario, I'll get some new rings for it so that everything has more room to breath.

I absolutely love instant photos and I like having a little place to keep them all together. How do you store/display your non digital photos? I'm always looking for new ideas.

5 Fave Friday

5. This Dr. Jacoby brooch.
It is just too good!

4. This dress is pretty off the hook.
The shoe print is so silly and fun. Annnnd if I'm not mistaken that is a pocket I see. Even better.

3. While we're on the subject of dresses, this one from Tiny Yellow Bird is pretty fabulous.

2. Kate's DIY is really adorable.

1. Crochet swimsuits.
I posted these photos from my ripple crochet book before but as of yesterday I am dying to try making one or both of these.

I feel very Dwight Shrute right now because I am sitting on one of those exercise balls as I type. We had one just sitting in the basement so I brought it up to sit on as I work. I don't feel like I'm getting any exercise but it is pretty comfy and prevents me from sitting on my feet. I tend to sit on my feet while I work and then my legs fall asleep and I'm sure that's not a good thing to be happening all day long.

Today is the first morning in about a week and a half that I woke up not feeling dead so I'm hoping that means my cold is almost gone! Hooray!

I hope everyone has a great Friday!

1st Wedding Anniversary Photos

As I mentioned, Ivan and I thought it would be fun to take a few anniversary photos on Monday night. We went back to the spot where we had our wedding photos done and had a great time snapping some '1 year later' shots. I'm really excited to do this every year.
Photobucket
And then we went all 'Gangsta/Spice Girl'...
And of course...
Outfit details: Elycia...scarf-thrifted, glasses-Coastal, dress-Modraphelia, shoes-ModCloth
Ivan...bowtie, White Elephant, everything else, who the heck knows!

We took these ourselves with my trusty tripod and remote and had very few awkward interactions with people walking in the park. Overall, a very successful photoshoot!

Does anyone have a tradition that they do every year? I'm excited to have a dorky tradition now and a husband who is into it.

While Ivan and I were visiting Kaylah and Kevin we took a bunch of film photos together. Here are my favourites from the ones we took with my Diana F+ with the 35mm back.
I know, I know, photo overload. There were so many photos that I loved, even the ones that didn't turn out the way I wanted them to I ended up really liking. This was the first time I used this type of film (Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 ISO given to me by my cousin) and I think my camera settings were a little off because most of the photos turned out lighter than I would have liked. I'm still into them though and I might try this film again.

PS. I will announce the Fashion for Home giveaway winner later today so get your last minute entries in!

1 Year Anniversary

Hello!

1 year ago today Ivan and I tied the knot. I did a big sappy post for our 10 year dating anniversary so I won't go into all the reasons that Ivan is awesome again. I will just say that our wedding was such an amazing day and I have loved being Ivan's wife for the last year. It was even a leap year so an extra day got thrown in there! Here are a few photos from our wedding.
Ha! Kissing photos make me laugh because I am obviously super immature. I like this one though because we are holding instruments and that ups the cool factor (right?).

Thank you for a great first year of marriage Ivan!!

So currently I have some kind of cold that I got last Tuesday night. It keeps getting worse instead of better and it is making me feel like a big piece of poop. Tonight Ivan and I are going to try to take a few anniversary photos so i'm hoping I can make it look like I don't have a cold!

I hope everyone has a great day!

photos :: diana f+

I finished up a few rolls of film that I shot on my Diana F+ recently so I thought I would share a few of my favourites.
With these photos I wish that I had have waited until the sky turned a little more blue. That thing in the bottom right is the horseshoe on top of our shed in the backyard. I do kind of like that these photos look a bit creepy with the clouds.
Since I took this photo I have actually dug up that bush. I believe it was a forsythia and I did kind of like it but I really wanted to put a pretty lilac bush over in that area. I'm glad I got a photo of the forsythia while it was all yellow and pretty.
This is probably my favourite photo from this roll. This was our plum tree while it was blossoming and looking really pretty. As I mentioned before, our plum tree is looking pretty diseased at the moment and I need to do some major cutting back to hopefully save it. Poor thing!

Since I got my Diana I have been shooting using the 35mm back which causes the photos to be super zoomed in. It's ok once you get the hang of it but I really want to get some 120 film and try shooting with that. Maybe my next roll?

5 Fave Friday

Photobucket
5. Coloured glasses.
Pink from Coastal, Blue from Warby Parker
I absolutely love both of these pairs of glasses.

4. Natasha's adorable animal photos.
If you haven't already seen this post I think you need to! So cute!!!

3. Rachele's 'I am Proud of my Size' link up.
I think this project sends a really great message. It is very easy to notice all the things about yourself that you would like to change and I definitely appreciate reminders to love myself as is. If you like this project you will probably be into Amy's 'Summer of Self Love' as well!

2. ARTicipate!
Frankie and Rose are running a challenge where they give a prompt and then people create something inspired by that promt. I love seeing the different things that people come up with from the same starting point.

1. Daily Something
Chantilly showed me this website while she was visiting and I love it! I really like to see what other people put on their nails.

Well, I'm off to go for a run before it gets too hot out. I usually take up running for a few weeks each summer, love it for a while and then start to hate it. We'll see how long it sticks this time!
