As I mentioned, Ivan and I thought it would be fun to take a few anniversary photos on Monday night. We went back to the spot where we had our wedding photos done and had a great time snapping some '1 year later' shots. I'm really excited to do this every year.

We took these ourselves with my trusty tripod and remote and had very few awkward interactions with people walking in the park. Overall, a very successful photoshoot!
Does anyone have a tradition that they do every year? I'm excited to have a dorky tradition now and a husband who is into it.

Holy jeebus, I have that dress! Or at least, one very similar to it. I bought it at a thrift store about seven years ago, and have never worn it because the split in the back is way too high. But it looks gorgeous on you.

ReplyDeleteI have a big clean up of our home on the anniversary of getting the keys every year, but that's more a chore than anything else. I've also started making books of photos for each year Steve and I are together, but I wish I'd started doing annual photos right at the start. Yours are so cute.
Such a cute idea and the pics worked out great.. would be so nice to look back in say 30 years and have an album of the two of you aging together in that spot!!

ReplyDeleteIn our family we have the tradition of taking pictures of the grandchilds in front of the tree. We took the first one when I was about three years old. Two of my cousins weren't even born. And now I'm 25 and we have more than twenty pictures of us in front of the tree where we can see how we changed :)

ReplyDeleteWe have a little tradition of reading year's past cards we gave to each other. It's fun to read what we said in our cards 5 or so years ago, and even just a couple years ago. They usually say about the same thing but it's always so deep and sweet and sometimes a little funny. :)

ReplyDeleteThe boyfriend and I are totally into goofy photos. But for him, they have to be set up with lights and the perfect everything or it's just not worth doing. So they don't happen as often as I want them to, but when they do, they're pretty great. We did a series of shots when we moved into our new apartment that are my FAVOURITES! So fun. The 'peace' photo is by far my favorite! What a great idea for a tradition! We try to do something fancy on our anniversary each year. Usually, we go to the theater or the opera (if we can snag a babysitter).

ReplyDeleteWe're not married yet, but my boyfriend and I go to a baseball game every year around the anniversary of when we met, because we almost didn't. We were supposed to go to a baseball game for our first date and through some miscommunication on where to meet and a forgotten phone, he thought I stood him up. We missed the game, but he still wanted to meet me, and now we go to a game every year on that same day and have a laugh.
I really like the pictures and your shoes! My husband and I take our picture in a photo booth every anniversary since we started dating 7 years ago. Keep going, that's a great tradition (so much fun to look at afterwards)!

yep! i do this, too! well, i actually just do a lot of random photos w/ the bf. he has a love-hate relationship w/ him & photos... but he does it w/ me. which is one reason why i love him so dearly!

These photos are adorable and this is such a great idea! For our 1 year anniversary, which would have been the same date as yours, we went back to where he proposed. It was wonderful weather out and he proposed outside on a dock so it was pretty perfect. I'm hoping we'll be able to go back every year.
