Photos :: 365 (January 20 - 26)

20/365 :: Milo is a really good assistant.
21/365 :: I have recently learned that some babies play in these things for an hour! Milo is not one of those babies. He will usually only stay amused for a few minutes at a time in his.
22/365 :: Night time record listening and a photo of Ivan and I from a few Easters ago.
23/365 :: Yum...block.
24/365 :: I really love this photo for some reason. The look on Milo's face is pretty adorable and he's sitting like a big baby!
25/365 :: So much for me not taking Milo photos everyday for this project. Ooops.
26/365 :: Milo taking a cat nap.

I still haven't done anything with my 2013 365 photos. I want to print them out into a book or something. Has anyone done anything with a 365 project that you want to tell me about? Please share so I can finally decide!

We are leaving tomorrow for Florida and I am so excited to escape this weather! We have been getting so much snow and there have been way too many days where the temperature has been colder than -20 Celsius. I'm not super excited about the plane ride but the warmer weather will make it worth it.

Have a great day!

Baby :: 7 Months Old

Milo is getting so big and I can't believe that he was 7 months old on the 21st. He is getting way harder to photograph as the months go by as I'm sure you can tell by the blurry photos.

Milo likes to practice walking already (while holding our hands) and he is becoming quite the professional sitter. No signs of crawling yet but I'm not in a super big hurry for him to become more mobile. I'm still getting used to the fact that he can roll all over the place.

Milo likes to scream, loves to be held and carried around and a new development is that he needs a toy to play with during his diaper changes. He gets bored very easily and always needs something going on.

We just love this little guy so much (duh) and I can't wait to see how he changes and how his personality comes out more in the coming months.

Photos :: 365 (January 13 - 19. 2014)

13/365 :: I am really bad at sending out snail mail. I have something from a year ago that I haven't sent out yet. So, this year I made a goal to send at least one piece of mail each month. I have already sent a bunch of things in January and I'm looking forward to sending more.
14/365 :: Afternoon light on a silly kitty.
15/365 :: I am fairly certain that I could survive solely on baby smiles.
16/365 :: This is from the day that I was sick. At least I had a nice view.
17/365 :: As awesome as baby smiles are, this face is pretty great too.
18/365 :: Oh my, I can't...
19/365 :: Farva bean.

 Hi! Yes, I still exist. I kind of vanished from the internet for a week. Again. I keep thinking that I will blog more and then I feel like my days get so full that I just can't make time. I don't really know what else to say; I'm in major baby mode.

Since we last spoke I have been making tons of yummy meals from a raw cookbook that I was sent a few months ago. I will post more about it soon because it is seriously amazing. I have also changed my hair. I'm working towards getting back to my natural colour (on top anyways) and the first step got it quite a bit darker than it really is. It will fade though and hopefully I will be able to stop worrying about hair dye upkeep for now.

Well, that's all for now. I have a few 365 posts to catch up on as well as a few other things that I really want to blog about soon. Have a great day!

Contest :: ModCloth Follow your Faves

I have known about the ModCloth Style Gallery for quite a while now but just recently joined the fun and started sharing some of my outfits over there. It is really fun to look around and see how people are styling the pieces that they have; even more fun when it gives you an idea for how to style a piece you might have too! It is also really easy to link the items that are in the photo because ModCloth knows what you purchased from them and shows you a clickable list so you can add items to your photo.

Starting today (January 20th) ModCloth is doing a Follow your Faves Contest for a chance to win some gift certificates. I will definitely spend some time browsing through the Style Gallery and following my favourites because I haven't had a chance to do that yet and now is the perfect time!

Here are the details of the contest:

- Follow as many users as you like in the Style Gallery.
- The contest runs from January 20, 2014 (7 am  PT) to January 27, 2014 (7 am PT)
- The contributer with the most followers at the end of the contest will win a $100 gift certificate to ModCloth
- Two randomly selected users who followed the winner will each get a $50 gift certificate
- The winners will be announced on January 28, 2014 (11 am PT) as a follow up to the original blog post and on the ModCloth FaceBook page!

Good luck to everyone who participates!

Are you already a member of the ModCloth Style Gallery? Is there someone on there whose outfits you always love that other people should check out? Here is my page so far if you want to check it out!

5 Fave Friday

5. These stamps are so neat!
I saw these on Diana's blog and just thought they were so pretty!!

This one is also really cool...but I need a Canada one!

4. I really like this mug.

Am I the only person who doesn't have a 'way' they take their coffee? Sometimes I like it black, sometimes with maple syrup or coconut sugar or agave, sometimes with non-dairy milk...the list goes on. It depends on how I'm feeling.

3. These are such pretty postcards.

2. These jeans are cute!

1. Pretty collar!

I don't know what the heck happened but I ended up really sick Wednesday during the night and all day Thursday. Throwing up, fever, body aches, the whole thing! Thankfully I'm feeling better today because being sick with a baby is one of the worst things ever.

I hope you are all having a healthy Friday!

Projects :: 2014 Granny Square Project (Week 2)

Here are my week two granny squares.
I'm very happy that I was able to get three squares made this week. I found it helpful to choose my colours and then keep the yarn handy so that I could get in a few stitches here and there.

I already have the colours for my next square ready to go. I can't even tell you how happy it makes me to be making even this small bit of progress on this blanket.

I wrote down a few silly little goals for 2014 the other day. I will share them as I start to do them, I guess, instead of devoting a post to them because you already know some and really, there aren't that many.

Photos :: 365 (January 8 - 12, 2014)

8/365 :: I know the focus on this photo is not ideal but I couldn't help but include it because a cat/baby party needs to be documented.
9/365 :: A bundled little bear. We braved the cold to go to the grocery store.
10/365 :: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, grumpy baby.
11/365 :: Ivan recently played The Adventures of Link for Nintendo so I talked him into playing Link to the Past on Super Nintendo next. Have I ever mentioned that I grew up watching my Grama play video games more than I actually played them myself. I still really like watching people play video games.
12/365 :: These foam letters were a gift and they are awesome!
We didn't have a super exciting weekend but one great thing happened...I got my phone replaced! The camera didn't work anymore and my battery life was awful so they just gave me a new one. I feel very lucky!

I am currently trying to figure out what I want to do with my hair. I love having white hair but I am just so terrible at the upkeep it requires so I'm thinking about what I should do. Kind of a random thing to mention but that's what's going on at the moment. Not much else is new around here.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Happy Friday friends!

Photos :: 365 (January 4 - 7, 2014)

4/365 :: Just hanging out with Dad.
5/365 :: The elusive Anakin. This cat hates my camera. I'm shocked I got this photo of him because usually when he sees that I'm holding the camera he gets up and leaves.
6/365 :: We got this squirrel and his friend (who is holding an acorn) from Ivan's Grandma's house when she moved. They will eventually find a home with my taxidermy loving friend but for now they are living in my craft room.
7/365 :: It has been so, so cold here. We had to go out for an appointment on this day and it was absolutely freezing!
It's hard sometimes to chose non-Milo photos for my 365 project but I am going to make a bit of an effort to mix things up. There will definitely still be lots but I might just have to start doing a weekly roundup of cute baby photos so that they don't just get lost on my computer. I'm ok with that!

I think I am finally ready to start putting together a post about my experience so far with cloth diapering. I know some of you have mentioned specific questions in the past so if you guys have anything that you would like me to talk about let me know in the comments and I will share my experience on it (if I have any).

Have a good day everyone!

Baby :: Six Months Old

With all the Christmas craziness (and me taking a blog break) I didn't share Milo's six month photos. He was not really in the mood for photos that day so I didn't get too many but here are the ones I grabbed.

As of right now Milo is getting really good at sitting, finally mastered rolling over and gets soooo excited to see both Ivan and I. He gets super smiley and wiggly and it is pretty much the greatest feeling in the world. I can't believe that in another 6 months we will be celebrating his birthday. If it goes by as fast as this first 6 months I don't know if I will be able to mentally process it.

As I'm typing this Ivan is entertaining Milo but I think he's getting ready for some food so I should go hook a baby up. Thank you guys for letting me share our little Milo man with you. I have too many nice, lovey dovey things to say about Milo and our family and all you great blog readers but I'm not really great with words, especially when I'm rushing so I will just say thank you.

Have a great Tuesday!
