what i wore :: lighter hair

:: head to toe ::
glasses :: Warby Parker
necklace :: c/o Paper Sparrow
dress :: ModCloth
cardigan :: Target
belt :: thrifted
tights :: mall
shoes :: thrifted

So, as I mentioned, I decided to start lightening (and growing) my hair. It will be a kind of long process so expect some silly looking hair for awhile. Well, you can basically always expect silly looking hair from me, but this is a different kind of silly. My hairdresser is pretty awesome and she helped me fix my mullet as well as started the lightening process. I'm pretty excited to get my white hair back eventually.

I am also pretty excited about my new shoes. I don't generally have a lot of shoe luck while thrifting but I was so happy to find these beauties last week. I also found some really awesome red and white heels but the price was a little too high for used shoes in my opinion!

  3. Those shoes are like brad new! Nice find. Cute thrifted shoes are ALWAYS 2 sizes too small for me! You must have a very understanding hairdresser, mine was upset when I wanted to lighten from red... I think he may have had a nervous breakdown if mine was black! Needless to say I lost the argument, aside from a few 'slices' of lightness! Yours looks cute anyway, even though it a work in progress! Isn't indecisiveness fun?!

    1. haha! Depends on the person, the awesomeness of the shoe and the condition of the shoe in my opinion. There was a pretty awesome pair of red & white heels but there was quite a bit of ripping/peeling on the heel and they were $15. It was the condition + the price that turned me off.

  23. Your dress and shoes are adorable! I know how you feel, cute thrifted shoes are always hard for me to find in my area. Since I have a very average size foot, I feel like everyone else gets them before I can.

    On another note, I love this auburn hair on you! I love the crazy colors too, but this looks very natural and warm on you. Although I might be biased, because this is so close to my normal hair color.

  43. It's good you are doing gradual lightening. I had long, black hair in December that I wanted to lighten and had a stylist turn it soda pop orange because he didn't know what he was doing. I cut it short and am slathering it in oils and conditioner until it grows out again!

  44. ohh I actually really like the lighter hair! Being a pink head myself I'm so used to colorful candy hair... it feels "normal" to me. So the color you have now actually stands out...haha.
