photos :: goodbye summer flowers

So, it is the last day of September and I thought that I would share a few photos of some pretty flowers from our garden that I took back in July.

I really love this hydrangea plant. The flowers were so pretty as they were blooming and they look really cool now that they are all dried out. They are still sitting there on the tree looking all pinkish brown and lovely.

When we moved in there were rose of sharon taking over all parts of the garden. They look so ugly during the winter and I wanted to rip them all out but i'm glad I left some. They grow like weeds so I will need to make sure they don't start springing up everywhere but I do love them along the hedge in our front yard.

I think the pink ones are my favourite...or maybe the white ones. Whatever, I'm indecisive.

Oh, and on the day that I was taking these photos my nails were really fancy.

I am excited for fall leaves but I will miss my summer flowers. I hope next year our garden looks even better.

    1. I painted the lighter colour and then once that dried I put a strip of the lighter and a strip of the darker colour on plastic and then pressed down with a sponge a few times to pick up and mix the colours a little. Then I stampled it onto my nail!
