Pregnancy :: 25 Weeks

25 weeks 1 day in photo
A few things:
1. I like that you can see what I was doing right before I took these photos in the background, hanging out on the couch watching something with Farva.
2. I planned on wearing jeans and a t-shirt in all of these weekly updates for consistency but that got realllly boring for me so I decided to mix it up.
3. I think my boobs are growing just as fast, if not faster than my belly. It's seriously nuts!

This week I am excited to tell you that Ivan and I both got to feel the baby kicking! He was being really active one morning and must have been in just the right spot to feel it from the outside. I called Ivan over and he got to feel it too. It is still not a usual occurrence to feel him that strongly but I have been feeling a ton more movement this week. Very exciting!

I think that is all the big news for this week. This afternoon we are going to go to a diaper store and get more information on cloth diapers so that we can choose the ones that are right for us. I'm pretty excited!

Have a great Saturday.

  1. A bunch of ladies at the one school that I work at are all pregnant and apparently, if you are going to use cloth diapers (which I want to when I get pregnant), then you must use diaper service. I was told it is the only way to do cloth. And there is one that serves Niagara as well as Hamilton: http://www.smartypantsdiaperservice.com/

  2. Looking good! And my boobs do the same thing, outa control!! I use cloth diapers, a brand called Itti Bitti and their Tutto range, you can use the same diaper from birth to potty training, so it saves tons of money. I love them, and find it isn't really that much work washing them, and so worth while!! Karen :)

  3. Gorgeous bump, as usual. That is so exciting that Ivan got to feel him, I can't wait for Matt to feel our Blob. I totally hear you on the boobs! Mine are huge, and they already were HUGE. I'm having serious bra troubles, I'm hoping one of the ones I ordered online fit!!

  4. Not to be TMI or anything, but before I had my son I was barely a B cup, and now 14 years later, I am still a DD. Having a kid does crazy things to your body!

  5. Congrats!
Alas, my boobs didn't change a wit...I was so looking forward to being bigger than a B cup.
At least for a short time anyway. ;)

Kudos for documenting this special time in a most special way!
    You look fantastic!

  6. Yay for cloth "nappies"! Hehe. I used Bum Genius for my son and looooooved them, but I'm planning to try a larger variety of styles and brands with the baby we're expecting this time. =)

  10. Looking fab mumma. It's an awesome thing when you start to feel them kick around. My hubby got to feel number three kick this week, after all our pregnancies the excitement never gets old. I use cloth full time, day and night, there are so many options around the previous commenter above suggested itti bitti they are an Australian company, I liked there range and fit for newborns. The other portion of my considerable stash has lots of different brands but many are baby beehinds Australian company again. There multifits are great from about two months through to toilet training, then you don't have to keep buying different sizes as bubs grow. Best of luck with your choice.

  13. I love that you plan to use cloth diapers! My mum did with us, my dad had the glorious job of washing them - I agree, a diaper service is probably a lot easier ;) But it's so great to begin lessening your child's carbon footprint early, I plan on using cloth when I have babies

  14. Your belly is just precious. And please do write more about cloth diapers! When we have a little one of our own I've always wanted to go down the cloth diaper route. Disposable ones are such a massive waste.

p.s. Cannot wait to get preggers so I can have real boobies ;)

  15. I highly recommend bamboozle and tots bots for newborns and Motherease for 6 months plus, thirsties covers are brilliant too and they come in super cool covers!

Congrats on being a Mama to a little boy, boys rock!

  16. I used cloth diapers on my daughter from day one until she potty trained about a month ago. Hit me up for any questions about choosing different types (there are many), use, care, whatever - I've been a cloth diaper guru for a few friends so if I don't have the answers I usually know where to find them :D I still feel that was the #1 best baby-related choice we made (actually, it might be tied with using a sling and then an Ergo carrier instead of lugging one of those carseat things around everywhere).

Oh, top tip for the haven't-actually-bought-diapers yet stage - BUY USED. They can be seriously spendy brand new, AND you might buy a bunch of one brand that appeals to you in theory but doesn't really work out fit-wise on your baby and/or logistically in general (hear the voice of experience!) Visit diaperswappers.com or craigslist and get several different brands and different types (all in one, pockets, prefolds or fitteds and covers) and see what you like before committing.

Looking great! Enjoy the bountiful bosoms!

  18. I'm cloth diapering right now. I recommend using organic prefolds for a newborn with covers. I have rumparoo newborn covers that I bought online from a store in Toronto. I have 4 covers and a pile of prefolds. I prefer the prefolds over all in ones right now-and they're cheaper too. Are you hitting up the mom to mom sales? There's another one in Dundas on April 6th, which is also the same day as the toddler show. I went to the toddler show months ago and did not enjoy it that much.
