Well, a few days ago we decided on a name for our new little boy. Ever since we found out we were having a boy we had been having a really tough time agreeing on a name. Of course we had a girl name all picked out though. Last Saturday in my bump update that never happened I had planned on talking about our name trouble. Then someone decided it was time to come out, named or not.
We decided to take our time and we have finally named this little guy...Milo Ivan James Mikesic. We knew what his middle names would be because we wanted to include both Granfathers names. We tried out a few first names and decided that Milo suited our sweet boy very well.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Milo!!

Not to be an alarmist, but I know you had a home birth so I'm not sure you've taken the baby to a regular doctor yet? Premature babies (I know he wasn't super early or anything) have a tendency towards jaundice, and your little guy has a bit of a yellow hue in these pictures. My son was born REALLY early at 27 1/2 weeks, and in the hospital they put the babies under these bilirubin lights to get rid of the jaundice. It could easily be the lighting in the pictures, but I thought I'd mention it.

ReplyDeleteYes, Ivan's dad was born in Croatia. The name Ivan has been in their family for generations. No one was into us continuing the tradition with our little guy's first name though.

You have to check out the moms groups when you're up to it. momstown.ca (they offer a 4 week free trial) and they have interesting workshops. I've been taking Story to Baby Picasso. Barefoot Babies has a breast feeding and parenting group (free), and the local leche meetings are great.
