what i wore :: new tights

:: head to toe ::
scarf :: thrifted
glasses :: Coastal
dress :: c/o Tiny Yellow Bird
belt :: thrifted
tights :: Walmart
shoes :: Blowfish (from a few years ago)

I love this dress as is but I'm thinking of adding a cute little something to the front. I really love the heart idea but I'm trying to think of something a little different that is equally cute. I'm sure I'll keep you posted.

I just scored a whole bunch of really great tights in a ton of fun colours at, believe it or not, Walmart. They were each only $5! Most of my tights are getting runs and rips so it was time to restock. I bought almost every colour including these cute light purple ones. They actually feel like really decent quality too. Yeah, I'm pretty excited about tights over here.

  3. Oooh, lavendar tights! They are so precious. I really like that dress the way that it is, but I understand you thinking of adding something to the front of it. A heart is a cute idea, but I can't wait to see what else you come up with! Also, totally adoring that scarf & belt.

  6. i usually have to do an annual cheap tights stock-up trip. i used to go to target, but then they started making all of the best colored tights footless, which i can't get behind. call me old-fashioned. plus, now i live in scotland and we do not have target, which is the ultimate tragedy.

  8. You know what would look cute? Try cutting out a heart (or a design of your choice, doesn't matter) over the breast-line, sew the ends up and then add a fun color (of your choice) around the edges.

    ...at least I know I would do that with the dress you have. ;]

  14. There is something about these photos that look super professional, like you belong in a magazine! Probably just your mad photography skillz (with a Z) cute face & outfit and perfectly adorable couch/blanket/pillow/clipboards (aka: the background) Anyway, these photos are awesome. You're a total babe. And I'm mega envious of your home. That will be all...

    Oh wait, I lied. Wal-mart...YES! I went there yesterday with a girlfriend of mine and we were complaining about how the Target is going in Lindsay and not Ptbo and how we're always jealous of US bloggers and all the cute shit they find at Target and how we wish we had one yada yada yada...anyways, then we went into Wal-mart and they had this section with the BEST stuff!! We probably said "I can't believe it" and "My mind is blown" about a hundred times cause ya...seeeeeriously cute stuff and so cheap. Anyways, I bought like 4 things for $50 and ya, I'm sure you'll see them in my outfit posts soon. Wal-mart...who woulda thunk it?

  16. Loooove this outfit!! I might have to go to Walmart now to check out some tights. And I want those shoes too. :(

    You're super cute! You could add a star to the dress, that'd be cute. Or a geometric shape of some sort. :)

  17. The tights are great! I was just thinking that I needed to buy new tights, and now I'm practically drooling! I would make a little bird to apply to the dress (I'd add a bird to anything if given the chance!)

  18. I like the idea of adding something on the front of the dress. Cat, bird, colorful geometric pattern, can't wait to see whatcha come up with :)

  20. Those tights are such a pretty shade and coordinate so well with your dress. I think a pretty vintage brooch, perhaps with a purple stone, would be a super lovely finishing touch. :)

  21. Yay! How great is Tiny Yellow Bird! Such great vintage gear and at amazingly cheap prices! This dress I wore in a recent outfit post was from her :)

  22. Hi Elycia,
    I have to say (having come back to this post twice) I seriously love the combination of subtle colours. This photograph is REALLY beautiful, so crisp in detail and the tones of the outfit/ your hair/ the background work so well together. This has become my favorite EVER outfit photo. I so wish I had a better camera to take mine with :( What do you shoot with?
    P.S those tights are lush, and a girl can never have enough pairs OR colours x x

      I shoot with a nIkon d7000. Actually, believe it or not, I shot these photos at night using some lighting that I thrifted! I am so excited with the way they turned out. I love that I'm not limited to taking my photos during the day now.

  23. That dress screams homemade detachable collar to me - that way it can be a different dress depending on the collar! Also, a scalloped hem on that puppy would be divine.
