Wish I Wore :: Jackets

I am not very excited about how cold it was here this past week. I don't like feeling that I need to wear mitts this early in the season! I am however pretty excited that I have been able to pull out some of pretty coats. I hope that this year I can add another one or two pretty coloured coats to my collection. For now I will settle for window shopping for pretty coats.
1. A Thrill in the Air Coat from ModCloth
2. Trim and Vigor Jacket from ModCloth
3. Mon Courier Coat from ModCloth
4. Winter Flowers Coat from Ruche
5. London Bound Houndstooth Coat from Ruche
6. This Charming Glam Coat from ModCloth

I'm curious, what is the weather like where you are? Are you getting ready for winter or is it almost summer where you are? Or maybe it's just warm all year. Yes, I'm a dork who is interested in talking about the weather with internet friends. Humour me.

  1. Well, normally I spend this part of the year in Arizona--basically, the desert. It's generally very, very warm until the end of the month. In fact, I remember running through the sprinklers in our costumes at some house we went trick-or-treating at as a kid because it was so hot! But my friends tell me it was very cold (e.g. 50-60 degrees farenheit) last week.

Now that I've made my first international move, I'm experiencing weather firsthand. Definitely what I would call "frigid"! Still it probably never got below 40F. But still, what a change for me!

  2. I live in Scotland- and we had a year without a summer and skipped Autumn. It's been horrible! Definite coat and scarf weather.

  3. I live in Perth, Western Australia and we are just about to start a lonnnnnnnnnnnng hot summer. I am originally from the UK and hate the summer here, it is horribly hot and Christmas in summer is just weird! I am a redhead and my pale skin doesn't fare well in the sun!

  7. I live in Brisbane in Australia & we hardly seem to get any winter. I never get the chance to wear nice coats as it is rarely cold enough. We really only get 3 months of winter & then it's straight onto summer which I dislike with a vengeance. I personally find it's easier to get warm then it is to get cool! Love your blog by the way :)

  8. Here in London it's getting a bit chilly, the emperature has definitely dropped especially this weekend - time for scarves and gloves, but that's about the norm here in england at this time of year! V.much loving coat number one and three :)

  9. I live in Michigan, so winter is definitely on its way here unfortunately. I love coat #4!

  10. Weather here in Tennessee is absolutely crazy. One day the high will be 58F and the next it will be 80! This week it looks like it's going to be fairly normal though - mid 60s to low 70s all week.

  11. We're having fall here in Maryland. However, Maryland doesn't like to have a smooth go of it; we will have 2-3 days of 50ºF then it'll shoot up to 70ºF for a day then be in the 60ºFs for 4 days. The cycle repeats and it makes me so hesitant to switch my closet from summer to fall/winter!

  12. It's been super cold in New England the last few days - makes me nervous for winter. It's way too early to think about all that. New coats always make it better though! I'll take #6!

  13. I'm from Southeastern Brazil (more exactly, São Paulo), and here there are just two seasons: summer, rainny and hot, and winter, dry and not so hot (it might get cold for a few weeks, but, then, "cold" here means 10, 15 Celsius degrees). Now, it is the beginning of the hot season, but this year, the weather has been pretty crazy: the last winter weeks were very hot and dry, dry, dry - horrible weather, with lot of fires and smoke all around! Then, we had one week of cold and rainny weather, then another hot and dry week, and now it is rainny and cold again... Let's see next week ;)

  14. I live in Austria. We had a very warm fall so far, actually I just went outside only wearing a thin pullover. Honestly I wish it was a little colder I am definitely a winter child. By the way the coats look all really nice - the dark blue one is my favourite :)

  15. I love weather chatting and I'm a jacket collector/hoarder/whatever you wanna call "I have so many jackets and I love them all!"

We've had very, very cold nights and somewhat chilly days here in Utah!!!

#2 and #5 are my favorites from your list. :D

  16. Here in Florida it's cooled down from mid 90's to upper 80's :p I'm so not made for this kind of weather lol. I wish I lived somewhere with four distinct seasons.

  17. I'm in Arizona and we definitely don't need coats. If I could, I would definitely wear #4.

  18. I love the second one! It's chilly here in MA too, I keep waking up to a freezing house and you can't walk around inside without socks and slippers on. We've been drinking tons of hot tea to keep warm as well as snuggling under blankets with the cats.

  19. I live just outside of Boston and it feels like we just skipped suddenly to late fall! I think that we had a longer summer, so even though this is normal weather for October it kind of felt like it came out of nowhere. :( Not ready for winter! Also, I'm dying over that houndstooth coat!

  20. I live in Wisconsin -today is cold rain and windy day! I really wish I had #3 to wear outside. That little number is cute and simple enough to be paired with so many things. Versatility is great in this layering season!

  21. Number four - swoon! It's pretty cold in London, too, and I was wearing a hat outside today (not for accesorising but actually to stay warm)!

  22. Yep, I'm from Maine and it's freezing! I'm in a play that we perform completely outdoors, and it's been pretty brutal! I can't feel my feet and fingers at the end of the performance!

  23. I'm so loving coats this year, too! Everytime I'm at the store I feel like they're magnetically pulling me!

  26. Ooooh, I looove #1 and #4. Unfortunately I'm in Florida and it's still in the 80's during the day. So ready for sweater weather!

  27. I love #3! I live in Germany and the weather has been pretty cold lately; it gets really cold during the night(like 32°-ish...) and it stays rather cold throughout the day. Unfortunately, we've also had lots of rain so it's hard to take advantage of the beautiful fall scenery.

  28. Hi ELYCIA! Nice to meet you and your wonderful store :)!! Each of the placed is very nice to see but I like the woolen collared jacket most. It's felt cool.

  29. These are gorgeous. The weather has been so moody here in Massachusetts. We had our first frost on Saturday and then on Sunday it was so warm that I didn't need a jacket.

  30. The weather is finally getting awesome here in Austin, Texas after a long hot summer...it's currently 78º and I couldn't be happier about it! We had a cold front last weekend and the weatherman told us that we should definitely bundle up because it would only be a high of 70º, and he was serious! Being from MN I'm always amused at what southerners think is cold.

I do long to wear a cute jacket like these though! Maybe in January!

  31. Ohh that green jacket. I am in love! It's still kinda late summer to early fall here in Seattle. Decent weather today, but it's definitely getting colder, with a bit of the rain coming back...
