It is strange to look at these photos of an outfit that I would have been 100% comfortable in before and kind of feel like I am wearing a costume. I have worn all of these items many times before but it has been so long since I've put together an outfit like this that I felt a little strange. I already knew my style had changed but this really confirmed it. I would love this on someone else but it just doesn't feel like me anymore. It is really strange to feel this way but I guess it makes sense; things change. So why am I posting this? I wore it for the whole day and I do think it is a cute outfit so I'm sharing. Also, I painted my nails so I'm pretty impressed with myself. As you can see, I casually placed my hands on my head so that you could check out the paint job.

I really do like these cat tights but I think they might work better on someone with legs that are a little less large and in charge. I am really testing the tensile strength of this bracelet...er pair of tights. They are super cute though so I'll probably still wear them once in awhile.

Just to be clear, the tone of this isn't gloomy. It's casual and I'm just making observations. Anyways, I really hope you are all enjoying your day! Have a great one.

  1. "... large and in charge." Hahaha, YES! I bought a similar pair of cat tights the other day, and my thighs literally looked like two sea lions fighting on a beach when I walked in them. And too I had the elastic band syndrome all up in my rib cage. Not so fun.

But I've got to say, you have lovely legs and pull off those tights to purrfection. And that outfit is adoraballs.

      Oh, well, thank you!

  2. I feel you! I just cleaned out my closet after realizing I'm less modcloth now and more LOFT/Anthro. Kind of sucked to see some clothing go because of the memories associated with them, but they just didn't feel like me anymore.

    1. Yep, it definitely happens! I still love ModCloth though, ha! I just don't search the dress section as much as I used to.

  3. I think it's still darling on you, and I would keep it in my closet to pull out and wear again. :) You're beautiful no matter the size, and you are inspiring.

    1. Oh, thank you Trina! You are very kind, I appreciate you saying that. I think I could make these pieces work for me separately, just not all together.

  4. It is super cute, but I understand where you're coming from. Any ideas what your style is changing into now?

    1. I'm definitely more casual now. This felt REALLY dressed up where before I would have definitely thought of this as one of my more casual outfits. I guess we'll see!

  5. Love cat thights and a jumping photo is full of joy :) Yes, things change in our lives and outfits that we enjoyed wearing so much few years (or even months) ago may not feel same now. Just keep on searching and posting outfit photos more often, please :)

    1. Thank you! Yep, very true. I have a really hard time getting rid of things though because sometimes I go in style circles and end up back where I started 10 years earlier wishing I had kept this or that. Just today I was thinking about a jacket I got rid of because it wasn't my style anymore. I think I would like to wear it again now!

  6. I personally think your large and in charge kitties look fantastic, and I looove that cardi!!

P.S. I want to send you something! Do you have a PO box? (:

    1. Ha, thank you! They are more like panthers than kitties.

You are so sweet to want to send me something, thank you so much! I don't have a P.O. Box. I looked into one before and they are really expensive! Is it just in Canada that they cost so much? Or maybe I'm cheap. Either way, if you email me at loveelycia[@]gmail[dot]com we can chat.

  7. Really good post. I think you look great in anything, but I love that your styles change, and you know what makes you feel "you". I wish I had style! I'm in PJs 24/7, working at home. I bet my days would be a lot more productive if I actually got dressed - outfits, what a concept. :)

    1. Oh, thank you. That is very kind of you. I have spent my fair share of days in my pjs all day! Strangely I get dressed everyday now that Milo is around. I don't know why I make that a priority now, ha!

  8. Call it growing up, maturing, getting older... something happens after you have a child too. I used to live in funky vintage dresses and 4 inch heels but things have changed and although I love that look on someone else I no longer feel I can pull it off. I did, when I could, and that's all that matters. Now days I rely on the natural glow of a proud mother to stand out in a crowd. :)

    1. Yes, definitely! You kind of hit the nail right on the head about how I'm feeling. I like that part about the natural glow of a proud mother too!!

  9. I know what you mean about a change of style. I noticed one too after my son was born. When at home I usually try to have a practical and casual look. At the office it's obviously more of a formal/elegant style. When I go out (the rare times I do) I take the opportunity to pamper myself and really dress it up. Love this look on you and I'm looking forward to seeing your style evolve in your new role as a mommy. ;)

    1. I'm definitely more casual now. And less fussy, if that makes sense. With Milo a lot of things are out of the question. He broke the chain on one of my favourite necklaces a month or so ago!

    2. Yea, wearing jewelry is quite the challenge. Lol. I only wear them for work, and even then, I have to put it on when I enter my office and take it off as I leave. xD

  10. Those tights look great on you! As does the whole outfit, but I get it about changing your style. I'm just glad you shared this one with us because you look super cute!

  11. That cardigan is AMAZING. Do you happen to remember the product name? I don't see it listed on Modcloth anymore, but I'd love to check eBay.

    1. You're right, it's not on ModCloth anymore but it was called "Opti-cool Allusion Cardigan". http://www.modcloth.com/shop/cardigans/opti-cool-allusion-cardigan?utm_source=Modblog&utm_medium=referral%2B&utm_campaign=tb_elyciaoflove

      I hope you find it!!
