Projects :: Christmas Stockings

I have a few small projects I've made that I want to document here but the first one I want to share is the one I'm most excited about. I started these stockings just before Christmas last year hoping that would mean I had plenty of time to have them ready for Christmas this year. With two out of three finished I think I'm on track. Well, actually my mom wants one too so I need to make two more...no problem.

When I was a kid my Grama made us stockings using this same pattern but in regular Christmas colours. When she passed away my mom found all of her knitting patterns and I asked for a copy of this one so that I could make our family new stockings in fun colours.

These stockings are my first try at fair isle and intarsia knitting. It's not as hard as I thought it would be but even still, I haven't perfected my technique yet. I am really happy with the stockings though, they remind me of my Grama and that's awesome.

  1. Hi Elycia!
    I started following you just before you took a break but I'm glad to see that you are back!
    I was wondering if you ever took on advertisers on your blog? I am a fellow Hamiltonian and would be interested in potentially advertising my etsy shop or eBay store. Whatever your interested in doing!
    Anyway, I couldn't find any other way of contacting you you so if you are interested please send me an email at selene.moran00@gmail.com to discuss your prices etc.
    Thanks Elycia! Love your blog and Milo is adorable!

    1. Hi! Thank you :) Hooray for Hamiltonians!
      I sent you an email just now but I will also just mention here for anyone else who may see that I'm not taking sponsors at the moment. Maybe in the future!

    1. Thank you! It was my Gramas from the 80s or 90s I think. It actually looks like one of those free tear off sheets you get from the yarn store.

  4. Oh my gosh Elycia, these are the cutest things! I really wish I could get my head around knitting. I've tried so many times and have failed them all.

  5. So cute! I love the little trees on them. I'm still to scared of fair isle to attempt them myself, though.
