cat walk

farva loooves going outside so yesterday we took him out for a little stroll.
the first thing farva does when he gets outside is roll all over the ground to get covered in a nice layer of dust.
he got to go in the front yard and the back yard. what a lucky guy. usually anakin likes to go out too but he wasn't really interested yesterday.
my neighbour saw farva and was really surprised that he didn't mind wearing a leash. we started putting it on him when he was a little baby so he doesn't mind. anakin on the other hand...he doesn't like it. will your cat wear a leash?

enjoy your day off today if you have one! (we have family day, hooray!)

  1. I had a cat that wore a leash once. It was amazing. A dream come true for a crazy cat chick like me.

  2. Eeek! It's a secret dream of mine to have a cat that will walk on a leash! First I need a cat....

  3. We put a harness on our oldest kitty. We've never tried with our younger one but will do this Spring. We have a leash used for training hunting dogs so it's reeeeeeally long and my cat loves going outside so much she really doesn't mind being hooked up. We tie one end to our tree in the middle of the yard and she pretty much has free range of the entire yard while we're outside working. :3

  4. We attempted to leash our cats once upon a time. We only tried once, it didn't go so well lol. Farva is so cute (I also love his name)! Almost makes me want a kitty again, but my husband would kill me!

    Have a great Monday!!

  6. Yay for Family Day (actually, I never work Mondays so this isn't any different for me, really...)
As I have said before, I am so jealous of your leash-wearing kitties. I think once Jackson and I buy our first house (which WON'T be right downtown, where we live now) we might attempt it. Oh man, how I cannot wait for a YARD!!!

  8. Our cat won't even wear a collar! Haha. He has always been an indoor cat, but lately likes to sit in the front yard. I'm glad he doesn't venture out or anything like that :)

  11. Stinker is interested in going out and exploring but Nibbler sees anything outside the apartment as SCARYDANGER!! I got really nervous the few times we took Stinker out to see the snow because we live by a busy street. I don't think he would mind a leash though...

  13. We were so lucky when I was younger, we had a beautiful kitty called Tabby and she would ONLY stay in the garden, if you took her to the front gate she would freak out, so there was no need for a leash! She'd stay in the garden for hours and never need to go anywhere!
I want to pet Farva so bad! Give him a little hug from me?

  14. wow you did it, you actual got your cat to walk on a leach! i am so impressed. we let little rosie out on the front porch today...we were both really excited to see what she would do as there were TONS of birds out but alas she scared and stayed right next to the succulents...when she was inside she was staring at all the birds and wiggling her tail like she was stalking them...she is all talk and no action! hehehe

  19. What a happy kitty! We've tried walking our cats but they're indoor and a little scared to be outside :) Maybe that's a good thing for us because there's alot of wild animals in the back woods.

  20. Aaaw - what a cutie!! :) When my sister and i had brother & sister cats growing up, we put them on leashes - they were wary at first, and no-fail as soon as they got comfy with it, the dog two doors down would scare the heebie jeebies out of them and they'd literally *drag* us running home...lol. If I get a kitty, I'll be doing it from kitten-age, for sure, though! So cute!

  22. Farva has such a primal "big cat" face. He always looks as if he is on the prowl for a gazelle or something.

  23. I tried it once and he just laid on the ground, rolled around a bit and refused to walk. Kitty walk fail. Looks like you had way more success than I did.

  24. hehe so cute.
My cats both wear a leash, well Anabelle doesn't anymore, shes really well behaved, but sui wears hers (she tends to try and chase any cats she sees, or likes to run and wander the streets! too scary), she knows when we touch her lead its time to go outside (we take them out every day for some outdoor time) we have a double length lead on her, so she can wander around without us holding it..but its close enough if she runs we can run for her, hehe.
