what's in my bag :: camera

Have you been wondering what is in my camera bag lately? Well wonder no longer.
1. Samsonite bag :: This is the bag I have been using lately to carry my cameras. I am a big fan of this bag and I love using it as a camera bag because there are so many pockets and places to store things. That also kind of makes it easy to lose things. I just found three necklaces that I thought I lost in one of the pockets.

2. Diana F+ :: I like this camera a lot but I don't use it as much as I would like to. I have been carrying it around a lot more lately to make sure I use it.

3. Pen :: Not a cool looking pen...but it works.

4. Instax Wide :: I love this camera so much and I have been using it a lot. One reason is because I am almost out of film for my Instax Mini and I love instant photos. Also, the colours that turn out on the photos are really pretty.

5. Blog Business Cards :: Yeah, I have some in my camera bag too. Although lately I have been carrying my purse and my camera bag at the same time...but just in case.

6. Lifesaver Mints :: I snagged some of these from the table at Blog Podium. What? They were extra and it was right at the end. Also, they are delish.

7. Lip Balm :: Earthtastic lip balm is pretty awesome.

8. Hand Sanitizer :: I was never a hand sanitizer user because I'm a rebel but my Dad kept giving it to me so I started using it. This one smells amazing.

9. Film :: Duh. If you have a film camera you need film. If my Instax is running low on shots I'll also throw in a fresh pack of that.

Not pictured is my Nikon D7000 that I am using to take these photos. I love that thing.

How many cameras do you usually carry? This is not really my everyday load, more of my 'I think I want to take extra photos today' load. The most annoying is when I lug all of this stuff around and then don't end up using it. Does anyone else do that?

  1. This is why my photography is poor - I don't have enough cool cameras to need a camera bag! :) Although maybe I should learn how to use my point and click first?! I have a habit of carrying my camera around all the time and forgetting to even get it out of its case, so I know just what you mean! Jen x

  2. I do that too, lug them all around and then not even use them.
My camera bag usually has my canon and an extra lens, dianaf+ (its got the instant back on it so it's a little chunky) diana mini, holga, and lately 1 disposable Im trying to finish off, as well as film, and usually some candy of some sort :) lucky the toy cameras are so light that you can easily stuff them all into a bag :) or I usually keep my holga/diana mini in the car if Im not taking the rest of the cameras/bag etc :)

  3. I was carrying my DSLR and iPhone around with me on Tuesday at the big Jubilee Picnic in the park. I borrowed my Dad's extra lens (the wonders of having the same make and model of camera!) and then also had my OH's iPad to upload pictures from my DSLR as I went. I kept geeking out because I think I have like 20 likes on a picture I uploaded to the church FB page while I was at the picnic :D

  5. Yes, I was!
    It looks lovely:)

I usually carry one at a time, sometimes 2 at concerts(my SLR and a compact for video). I tend to switch depending on what activities I have planned for the day. Sometimes my Nkon, sometimes my Diana, sometimes the fish eye...

  6. Your bag is so cute :) Was it thrifted? I would def carry it as a purse, but that's just cuz i'm a bag lady to the core, lol.

I've been considering getting an instax wide since I miss shooting polaroid SO much... other than the colors, what else do you like about it? Thanks so much ^.^

    1. Yes my bag was thrifted! I really love it and I do sometimes carry it as a purse instead of a camera bag.

I also like the instax because it is reliable. The Polaroid that I have does not always produce good photos. I don't know if it is the film or the camera but a lot of the time the chemical doesn't spread over the whole photo! My Instax wide always takes a good quality photo and I haven't had any problems with it.

  7. One, your camera bag is awesome! Two, I *love* that you said you rebelled against hand sanitizer. I'm totally a hand sanitizer rebel too. Germs are awesome :) Three, Yay Nikon! I feel like every other blogger I read uses Canon these days, and I was starting to feel like Nikon wasn't getting enough love out there. My first photography class we were all given film Nikons to use, and I've been in love with the brand ever since.

Oh, and I'm totally guilty of lugging a ton of camera crap around, and then not taking a single photo. So annoying! Makes me feel so guilty.

    Keep being awesome, chris :)

  8. I love that bag. I'd like too get a new camera bag soon. Mine is very squished and only fits my DSLR and my two lenses. I need some film cameras in my life.

  9. yes... I definitely carry my camera bag around and then don't take any photos. Better safe then sorry, I guess. However, living in Florida, it is too hot to leave it in the car so I really carry. it. every. where.

  10. Looove that bag! What a beautiful color!

I have a Diana, I have neglected it majorly. I also have rolls I took in it that I haven't developed...and yes I am also guilty of lugging stuff around and not using it. I'm ashamed of myself...
New goal list this summer fo sho! (I don't talk like that in real life...)

    1. I know what you mean. I type things that I would never say in real life conversations. Actually...sometimes I do start saying things that I normally just type. It's just too much fun to talk like a goof!

  11. All of your stuff fit in your bag? Or you use an "organizer", what separates your cameras?
I inherited a film SLR camera with a big camera bag, but te bag is unusable because it is too old. I always bring my new DLSR camera and my older film SLR camera. They are too heavy and it is difficult to bring them everywhere.
I also have got a Polaroid camera, but I can't use it, because I can't find a polaroid "film" in Hungary. I'm so sad.

    1. Yep! It all fits! Sometimes I will use the dividers that came with my Jo Totes bag but I'm not at the moment.

  12. I thought I was the only one who carried 3 cameras at once! I also have an Instax Wide and LOOOOOOVE it. I also carry my Rebel XS and a teeny tiny lomo camera (http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/112460014/LOMO_Camera.html).

  13. Do you use the 120 film for your Diana? I want to but I don't know where to get it developed. Also, I bought the 35mm back and all my pictures turn out super zoomed in, blurry, or white.

    1. I have the 35mm back and yes! I wasn't expecting it to be so zoomed in on the first role I shot. I am still using the 35mm back for now but I compensate by standing further back and putting the subject in the very center of the viewfinder. I am usually able to avoid zoomed in disasters like my first role!
I want to try using 120 film and I've been told that Henry's develops it. Otherwise I've heard of places that you can mail it into. I don't have a ton of knowledge on this so I'm sorry I can't be more helpful!

  14. Oooh, that looks like a cute and useful bag! I usually carry my Nikon D40 and my Holga Shironeko film camera. I recently purchased a backpack from Target to carry everything.

Also, I'm totally interested in getting an Instax camera. Glad I can see its size in relation to other things. They're so nifty looking!

  15. My camera bag is such a mess- I really need to clean it out! At any given time, I have my Canon Rebel XSi with my 50mm f/1.4, two film cameras (generally a Vivitar V4000 and a cheap point and shoot), and most of the time, my Yashica Mat 124G! That's not including rolls of film, SD cards, and all the like. I'm hesitant to get any kind of instant camera because I don't want another thing to haul around!

  16. I love that you're using that bag for cameras!

I totes do the same thing; I literally carry around 5 or 6 cameras because in my head I can totally use all of them and then sometimes I don't use any! Also, I just resurrected my Diana and I'm so excited to get back to the dreaminess :) Hope you show some of your photos!

  17. That is a very cute bag, great color! I don't have a camera bag, but now I want one, lol. I only have 1 camera and I always forget to bring it along with me, that was up until the last time my friends and I had girls night. I actually remembered it and we got a few shots. I'm trying to take it with me more so a camera bag would definitely come in handy.

My name is Sarah, I just started following. Cute blog!

  20. Bahahaha. I love that you have some of those mints from Blog Podium in there! Man, I grabbed a bunch & a bunch of pencils, but they're all at Rach's house!! Haha. I left all my free stuff there. :( haha I will have to make a trip to Toronto to pick 'em up!!

I really want to start shooting more film. Err, when I say that, I really mean just START. Last time I shot any film photos was... uh... it has been a few years, ha.

  21. I just got back from Europe, and I carried my Olympus DSLR, a Diana Mini & her film, and my Instax Mini along with me everyday for a month and a half - and I'm so happy I did!! :) It was pretty funny to juggle cameras while seeing all the sights, and I was super happy to have film whenever the digital battery died... :) Yay, camera bag twins! Eer...almost...
