Hair :: Bali Oil

Remember a long time ago when I would tell you the awesome thing I use on my hair to make it softer? Yeah, maybe not...it was a few months ago. Well, the reason it has taken me so long to share is because  I used up the last of it a few months ago when I mentioned it and have been trying to buy more so that I could take photos of it to show you. Well, I can't find it in any of the stores I used to get it at so I figured that I better just tell you what it is in case stores near you have it in stock. The awesome product is Live Clean Bali Oil Restorative Hair Treatment.
So, like I mentioned before, this stuff is great and really makes my hair feel more like hair and less like straw after a lot of bleaching. It is a solid but melts in your hands so that you can spread it all over your hair. I normally leave it on for at least 30 minutes with a shower cap covering it up. You just shampoo it  out after you are finished and I have found that it helps to shampoo twice to get all the oil out. Last time I only washed it once because I didn't have anywhere to go and I looked like a total grease ball for the day. I find that the effects of the treatment last about a week but I have pretty dry hair so it may be different for you.

I am really bummed at the moment because I used to buy this at Shoppers Drug Mart (Canadian store) but the ones I have been to lately don't carry this particular product. I need to go check a few more before I give up because I love the Bali Oil treatment.

Does anyone have any good restorative treatments that they use? I have heard good things about coconut oil too!

PS. I am not affiliated with Live Clean (I wish!) I just think their products are great.

  3. I too used to buy Bali Oil ( I have dry curly coarse hair that I colour an awful lot) it worked amazing and CAN NOT find it at Shoppers any more either.
I'll have to try our WalMart here and see if they have it, thanks!!

  4. Try a banana hair mask! It helps soften your hair. I bleach and color my hair as well, and a banana hair mask is my go to treatment. They're super easy to make too. :)

  6. You should use Lush's Blousey shampoo, it is packed with bananas and is made for over processed hair; makes mine feel amazing! Also the Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze hair treatment is amazing, it is packed full of awesome oils (jojoba being my favorite) and makes your hair feel way more manageable! Lastly, R&B is an amazing "hair finisher" that works kinda like a leave in conditioner that restores the moisture and shine to your hair after you do your hair in the morning. All of these products are also vegan! I love Lush, I work at Lush, and I hope you love it too!

  8. This is what I use. My hair stylist noticed an improvement in my hair when I first started using this product and he can tell when I've skipped treatments.

  9. I swear by coconut oil! I am in cosmetology school, so naturally my hair goes through a ton of abuse. I just melt some down and smear it all over my head (it works great on the scalp, too if you have dry scalp. I just keep it out of my bangs) and I put it up in a bun and watch Netflix for an hour or two before shampooing it out. Some people leave it on overnight, but that seems too messy. I have used dozens of treatments, including expensive ones, and none have made my hair feel so great.

  10. I'm a cheap skate so just use coconut oil for £1 a tub, works a treat :) I've also used olive oil which works well and I want to try and make an avacado mask at some point

  11. I use Shea Moisture products, I love their shampoo it leaves my hair so soft and their leave in conditioner is great and not greasy. They have a couple of masques for restoration, the one I have tried is the Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque. I buy mine at Target, here is a link to it: http://www.target.com/p/shea-moisture-raw-shea-restorative-trauma-masque-12-oz/-/A-12239778#prodSlot=medium_1_10

I also love this product because they use all natural products and do not test on animals.

  12. I usually use this, but leave it on for about 30 minutes right after I bleach. Then every week or so I use it in the shower for 3 minutes.

This last round of bleaching ended with

  14. Coconut oil is lovely for your hair, and your skin too! You can just slather your whole self in it, smell amazing and feel great.

I haven't lived in Hamilton for a while, but the Shoppers at Dundurn and King used to have a much wider cosmetic selection, so maybe try there (if it's still even there!)

  17. Actually, I've found an herb which I've been taking for about a year now. It's helped a lot of things including my flare ups from Endometriosis, and also anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, hangovers, and my hair, skin, and nails feel so much healthier! It's got purified water in it, and magnesium. I've even gone two days without washing my hair, and it still feels clean and not only that it feels soft. If there is such a thing as a miracle herb it's this! It isn't sold at GFC unfortunately. It is one you have to get online. I don't know if you are into herbs, but if you would like to know what it is, and want more info about it you are welcome to email me. It is legal, and it's natural with no chemicals!

I hope you find your favorite product though. I know that's such a bummer. Feel free to email me anytime at skylarmagazine.sarah@gmail.com.

    Thanks & Happy Holidays!

  18. Argan oil. I've been color treating my hair since I started going grey at about 21, so you can imagine the colors and damage. It's on amazon... I'd go with organic if you can. I'm 46 and want to keep my long locks but am caucasian and hair dye is damaging no matter how we love it. Also BIOTIN creates an amazing difference with hair and nails. It's a sort of B supplement.

  19. Thanks for sharing this. I actually do remember the post a few months back! HA! My poor hair is nothing by split ends, breakage and fly-aways. :( BUT I love my platinum blonde hair and I'm just not ready to give it up yet. I will look for this product and try it for sure! Thanks :)

  20. Coconut oil is seriously the best thing ever. Definitely give it a try! It is a solid that melts in your hands just like the stuff you use, and you can leave it in for 30 minutes and then wash (or leave it in overnight and wash in the morning, which is what I do). It is amazing. Make sure to skip a conditioner when you use it though. You can use it as often or infrequently as you like. It is also wonderful for your skin (use it at night before bed though, it is too oily to use during the day) AND it is my favorite make-up remover. Best part - you can buy it at almost any grocery store. Good luck, hope you find something that you like! :)
