photo an hour :: april 16th 2012

On Monday I decided to take a photo every hour. Here is what my day looked like.
 ::7 am ::
I ate my leftover baked tofu sandwich for breakfast because there is no way I could have waited until lunch time. Also, I don't have a problem eating non breakfast food for breakfast. I have been known to eat leftover Indian food for breakfast.
:: 8 am ::
Someone is a very sneaky kitty! I was trying to take a photo of my glass when Farva stuck his face in it. I have started collecting these glasses with the name of the month and that month's flower on it. The one in the photo is April. I think they are so cute!
:: 9 am ::
I spent some time in my email inbox and tried to clear a few things out and answer any emails that may have slipped through the cracks. Does any one else open emails on their phone, say to themselves "remember to respond to that once you're on the computer", and then feel like they already responded to it because you have thought about what you would write back?
:: 10 am ::
Listened to some music.
:: 11 am ::
Checked in with my to-do list.
:: 12 pm ::
After exercising I made myself a drink with some of this fancy stuff in it. It tasted...interesting. I think I probably won't notice the taste after a few drinks.
:: 1 pm ::
Tested out all of my metallic nail polishes.
:: 2 pm ::
Admired my new office curtains. I found them at Talize on 50% off day and was pretty excited. They are an even better colour in real life (the sunlight coming in the window washed out the colour in the photo a bit).
:: 3 pm ::
I spent some time gardening because it was beautiful out! Super windy but really warm. I got pretty excited that our pear trees are blooming too!
:: 4 pm ::
My gardening shoes of choice. Somehow I managed to keep them clean.
:: 5 pm ::
I had an apple and some water while making dinner. I also admired my little counter display. I actually bought those two mushroom jars on different days but they are a perfect match. Actually that's not super amazing because I see them all the time all over the place.
:: 6 pm ::
Ivan has been doing some home beer brewing and his second batch was ready to try. We have been making sure to take photos of the first beer from each batch.
:: 7 pm ::
Did you know I play the drums? Well I do and these are my fancy sparkley purple set. Ivan was recording some songs for his work to use in videos and I played the drums for him for one song (that's why there are a million and one cables and mics!).

After this I ran out to grab some groceries and nearly got blown away by the wind. We finished the evening by watching a movie and falling asleep on the couch. Very exciting.

  2. so fun that you play the drums. when i was in grade school we got to pick out what instrument we wanted to play and i wanted to play the drums, but in order to be able to play them you had to be able to carry home the drum practice kit all by yourself. well the drum kit weighed too much and i couldn't lift it. (i was SUPER tiny, like not even 4 foot tall weighing like 60 pounds) I was SO bummed and heartbroken. instead they made me play the clarinet which i totally and completely hated.

    ps - in a totally different note i have a set of three of those mushroom containers up for sale in my shop right now =)

  3. I'm always opening emails up on my phone (normally when I'm rushing out the door...not sure why) and thinking I'll reply to that later! I must stop doing that, it doesn’t help when I’m trying to be more organised. Do you find you can listen to music while you’re working? I have to stop myself listening to my favourite tracks or I just end up listening to the lyrics and can’t think.

    1. I sing along too much, ha. I can't even read blog posts while listening to music because I am just singing & not reading!!

  4. I don't believe in the structured nature of certain foods at certain times. I (and a lot of other people) eat breakfast for dinner, and all kinds of leftovers for breakfast. It actually makes it easier to find something, I think.

    It definitely looks like you had a great day! I think those flower glasses are so cute!

  7. I'm the same about breakfast, I actually don't like most breakfast food so I end up eating the weirdest things.

  9. I wana see a bigger pic of your curtains, they look really pretty!

    Thats cool you still find time to play the drums, guess it helps having a musical man too but too many people forget or cant find the time!

    ps did you post the recipe for the baked tofu sandwich? looks yummy. i did a serach and couldnt find anything.

  11. I didn't know you played the drums - the purple sparkly set is awesome! I want to get a pink or purple sparkly bass but for now I have to do with my normal black one.

    1. Oh cool! You play bass? I play too and when I was in one of my bands in University I bought a heart shaped bass. It is pretty cute. A pink or purple sparkly bass would be so fun. But yeah, if I hadn't bought all of these pretty instruments when I was younger (and apparently rich?) I wouldn't be spending money on them now!

  15. There is so much to respond to here... great day in pictures. Non breakfast food for breakfast is THE BEST! My favourites are left over Chinese Food, spaghetti & meatballs or fajitas (tummy rumbles), but really anything like that will do. You play drums... very fun. Hubby would find the beer brewing the best pic of the bunch. Your trees are ahead of ours... so for that I am jealous. The canisters... have them too (2 bigger, 3 smaller thrifted on one day & have never seen them since). When my cousin was married in the 70s these Merry Mushroom pieces were quite the wanted item & somewhat expensive.. she received hers as a wedding gift from her Dad. She had come with me for her first ever thrifting trip last month & this is when I scored mine... interesting indeed.

  16. My son totally loves Indian for breakfast. He gets on the bus at 6:30 am. There is nothing like being asleep and waking up to the smell of Indian. lol He is in high school so I let him eat what he wants but its way weird for me. (The smell mainly.) He's your tiny kindred "not so much breakfast for breakfast" spirit.

  19. Man, that is TOTALLY what I do with e-mails! GAH! It's so bad. Like I'll wake up in the middle of the night & check my new e-mails and then DREAM about writing back. So I think I did. Only to find out weeks later that I didn't. haha. Glad I'm not alone! (Well, maybe with dreaming about it... haha!)

    Ooh you could notice a difference in the taste with the hemp powder? I use that stuff too, but I never really notice a specific taste. Maybe I'm just used to it now, haha. I use some hemp powder, too.

  24. I am the absolute worst at replying to emails... Absolute worst. (And I'm pretty sure you and I had an email conversation going that I can't remember who left off!) And I am in love with your drum set. It kind of makes me want to paint my bari sax with glitter paint.. but I don't think that would work so well!

  25. I've been thinking this week of how I REALLY need to stop checking my email on my phone because I keep losing important emails that I thought I responded to then remember a week later I didn't!! I'm going to whole foods this weekend to get hemp protein for when I work out. I heard it's really the best for you! and I love the glasses on your pen :)

  28. I love your little counter display! Makes me wish that I didn't have roommates who leave trash and old food all over the place. I bought some kitschy salt shakers shaped as pigs for us, but whenever I see them in the kitchen I feel like they need rescuing from that horrible place haha.
