dress :: Simply Sensational Dress from Modcloth
belt :: thrifted
tights :: Jukebox Tights in the Twist from Modcloth
shoes :: thrifted

I have worn this dress before in an outfit post but I didn't show you the back. It is one of my favourite parts of the dress. It goes low and it kind of reminds me of a ballet outfit. I took ballet for years but I stopped right before I got pointe shoes, which were the reason I wanted to start ballet in the first place. I used to look at this ballet book at my Grama's house when I was really little and admire the costumes and colours and wish that I was a ballerina. I wonder if my Grama still has that book? I should ask her!

Yesterday my mom came over and we spent almost the entire day in the garden. Our front garden was/still kind of is a jungle and we worked on ripping things out to get a fresh start. We aren't completely finished but it is starting to look so much better already. I have discovered that I actually really love gardening and can spend hours out there! That's a really good thing because there is still tons of work to do.

Today I have some fun blog stuff to do including responding the this video from my friend Kim!

    1. Yes absolutely! Ivan actually doesn't want to plant anything that we can't eat but we will be putting some non edible flowers in the front garden.
      We can't wait for our veggie garden in the back to be up and going!

    1. Thanks!

      I am kicking myself for not taking a 'before' photo. Today i think I will take a 'during' one so that I have something to compare it to when it is finished!

  14. Lovely tights! I love your wall in the first picture too, it totally inspired me to re-do some of my walls :)
    I just read your previous post and felt so identified! I cry and get so tense in movies with animals I've scared people around me, when I watched "I am Legend" with my boyfriend we had a whole discussion because I felt his dog would be killed and it wasn't worth me watching the movie haha :p Glad to know I'm not alone! Have a great day Elycia!

    1. thank you!

      I sobbed during "I am Legend" too. I actually can't believe I watched it because it is so obvious the dog will die! I literally couldn't stop crying for the rest of the movie. Everytime I thought about it I would start sniffling again.

  16. I want to redo our whole front yard too. It's not a jungle so to speak, but there are just random things planted all over! We are waiting until we've lived in the house for a whole year to make any drastic changes since we don't even know what all is growing.

  19. Oh I definitely did the same thing--I loved ballet and went into it for the pointe shoes. I was ready for them earlier than anticipated, though, and my parents wanted to give my bones some more time to grow so they made me stay in the lower levels for a couple more years. I ended up getting bored with it while waiting, though, and dropped it. Then like two years later I massively screwed up my knee, so there went ballet!

    I still like wearing ballerina-style dresses, though. I think my pleated midi skirt makes me feel like I should be in the middle of a performance. Maybe I'll add some white tights and ballet flats one of these days and go all out with a costume....
