Ok, I know I shouldn't point out everything that is wrong with these photos but holy smokes, I don't know why my boobs look so lopsided. Probalby nursing related. Yeah, let's blame that. The other problem is my wrinkly skirt! I did in fact steam it and thought it looked ok but I guess I wasn't wearing my glasses because...wrinkles. Despite the wrinkles, this has quickly become my absolute favourite skirt. It is so easy to slip on and it has pockets!

All right, I think that covers everything. Oh wait, I just remembered that my skirt has dried baby pee on it. I really didn't need to tell you that one.

On a different note, I am having some weird feelings about blogging lately. I still love it but for the first time I'm really struggling with what I want to post about. I haven't been making time to craft anyting lately and my life at the moment pretty much revolves around Milo and getting out of the house to socialize with other Moms to keep myself feeling connected to the world. I have always posted about what I'm doing and what I'm interested in so I want to stay true to that but at the same time I'm sure you guys don't want all babies all the time. I do plan on talking a bit about cloth diapering and babywearing (new interests) but again I know that non-moms will likely not care. I know that I will find a balance but I think it will just take a bit of time to settle in to.

I didn't really plan to mention (I actually never thought I would mention something like that on my blog) but I needed to say something because I'm sure you have noticed my sporadic posting. I'm the type of person who needs to tell you that I might have spit on you while I was talking because I don't want you wondering if I know that I spit on you. Of course I mean that accidental spitting that sometimes happens...I don't go around spitting on people. Whatever, I'm getting way off topic.

I think I kind of forgot that this was an outfit post. Look I'm wearing clothes!

  2. I think you should blog about what YOU are interested in right now...be it cloth nappies, outfit posts or whatever. It’s really interesting to see what people are doing in there own little pocket of the world. I do look forward to a vegan/veggie baby food/ what Milo eats in future blogs, because that’s what I'm into right now and even though my baby is a bit older, well I'd still be curious.

  3. Personally I love reading about Milo and your new life as a mommy. It's interesting and it's you and your life, which is why we all read your blog. Write about what you love and what inspires you and if that's Milo, then go right ahead :)

  4. As your life change, you change, and the same goes for your blog. Don't be afraid to change or evolve it! You might loose readers, but you might get new ones as well! I for example got a new interest in your blog after you pronounced your pregnancy! And I love reading about Milo, an baby related stuff. I wouldn't mind crafty stuff and outfit photos either, but I love how the blog changes with you! But then again, I am around your age, and I am expecting my first baby in about 5-6 months time. A baby girl <3
My point is, you can't please everyone, but you should absolutely be true to yourself - be brave and blog about what you are interested in! That's what makes a good blog.

  5. awww, it's ok. You have a new life now and you can't try to push you new life into your old one. And thats not a bad thing.
You will be fine once you get into the new swing of things.

  6. As a non-mom, I would say please post to your hearts content about whatever you would like! Be that baby things, outfit things, spitting on people things. . . ;) I'm sure others would agree with me that we read the blog because we like to hear about what YOU have to say, rather than WHAT you have to say, know what I mean? Keep doing you!

  7. LOVE the skirt! And your hair is looking great :)
Just post about life - that's what blogs are for, right? Your life right now is your little man, and maybe in a year or so you'll have other things to talk about. Just stay true.

  8. skirts with pockets are winners - as are dresses with pockets.
I have noticed that, more recently, you do do (do-do!) a lot of baby posts but that's cool because you made something pretty darn amazing - a baby! I'm a non-mum and I don't mind baby posts at all! having a baby is a huuuuuuge part of your life and if that's what you fancy writing about (even if it isn't as regular as your pre-baby posts) then you should :) I'll keep checking in.
p.s liking your hair a lot!

  9. You look beautiful :)
Being a mum takes over your whole life, and it can be very overwhelming. I had my second baby last November and I've honestly been in survival mode every since, that's just the way it is!
And I'm the same, if I spit on someone by accident there's no way I could continue the conversation without saying "Umm sorry, I think I just spit on you!" :P

  10. I think I can speak for a couple of us readers when I say we just like to read about whats going on in your life. I think most of us like you a lot and don't at all mind all the baby things. Those of us preparing to have kids in the next few years appreciate the insight too! Personally, I dont care what you blog about, unless it's politics or religion, I'll read it

  11. Love your hair in these! I'm curious if you have ever tried hair chalking? Just because you could change the color every day if you wanted to with those, haha.

I'm a mom and I don't mind if you blog a whole bunch about Milo! But yes, I completely understand where you are coming from.. it's your blog, blog about whatever you like!

  12. I'm a non-mom and I really enjoy seeing pics of Milo and hearing about your experience as a mom. It gives me ideas for the future. Just do what you do and blog it. I'm sure we'd all like to see it! I'm loving your hair in this post, btw!

  13. I know what you're going through. It's really hard to find time to blog, let alone think of things to blog about. I can't really even manage to find the time to hang out with other moms... between taking care of Donnie, cooking, cleaning, running errands, it's like... where does the time go? But I just try and do what I can, and at the end of the day, it's your blog and you have every right to baby it up all day.

Btw, my boobs literally look lopsided ALL THE TIME now. I blame nursing too. I hope that's what it is and that I'm not permanently lopsided. Oh well.

  15. Girl, you are one of my favorite bloggers and have been for months now. Just cause you started posting about your baby didn't make your blog any less interesting (at least to me, and I'm not even particularly interested in babies.) You have such a beautiful voice and I actually love reading everything you post about because your writing and personality are just so great, and I love reading about your baby related stuff anyway because you are obviously doing some cool things in the way you raise Milo and that stuff is interesting to read about in its own way. It's your blog, take it the direction that is natural for you. Some people may lose interest, but you'll get a whole gang of moms and mom sympathizers who are loving it. I'd love to read more baby related things if it means more <3Elycia in my life. Just sayin. :)

  16. I love hearing about babies and life adjustments and new mom thoughts, and I'm not a mom, so post away. Do whatever comes naturally!

  18. Hey Elycia! I've been visiting your blog for a few years it seems like and I would love to get a glimpse into your every day life. Blog what YOU wanna blog not what you think people want you to blog. Take Bleu Bird Vintage for example, she blogs about her kiddos almost every day and we love it! And even others like Casey Wiegand or Simply Sadie Jane (just trying to let you know that a lot of ppl LOVE blogs that talk about everyday life). I LOVE YOU ELYCIA and will happy to read anything that you post! I hope to start my own blog soon!! I love your Milo posts! This is the beginning of your virtual scrapbook of him and your little family. :) You'll ALWAYS have me as a reader!
    XOXO follow your heart!! <3

  19. i come here because i like your voice, and i have even been wishing you were posting a little bit MORE about what it is like being a new mom. i've struggled with that on my blog too.i got lots of readers posting about estate sales and vintage and now that i'm cooling it on that (my house is bursting at the seams!) i feel like i don't know what to post about! my favorite blogs are personal blogs, so i want to hear about what you are doing, not matter what it is!

  20. I love reading about whatever is going on in your life, and Milo is adorable. I also love your shoes, very Audrey Horne.

  21. I say do you! I'm not a mom and won't be for many years, but I love reading your baby-related posts just because it's interesting to read about what's going on in the lives of other bloggers.

Those shoes will forever remind me of Audrey Horne. I love them.
