Hello friends, happy Saturday!
It has been absolutely forever since I have done a vlog and I thought it would be fun to take questions like I used to every so often. Some I may use to update my FAQ page but others I will answer in vlog form. I'm pretty excited!
So, if you have anything to ask me...ask away!

new to me blogs :: part 3
Hi!
Today I have another new blog that I've been enjoying to share with you. I have actually been reading this one for a little while now but I'm just getting around to sharing.

Today I have another new blog that I've been enjoying to share with you. I have actually been reading this one for a little while now but I'm just getting around to sharing.
How I ended up there:
You might recognize Nicole as one of my sponsors. That is actually one of my favourite ways to find new blogs. When someone is hanging out in my sidebar I can't help but wonder what they are up to and click over.
What I saw that made me stay:
Something about Nicole just rubs me the right way. Yeah, I know that sounds really weird. Sue me, I say weird things. Anyways...I already told you about Nicole's Elk post that I loved, but that wasn't what got me hooked. It was actually this 'Plea to Cat Lady Bloggers' that made me laugh and kept me coming back. Obviously I don't agree with the post (the more cats the better) but it somehow made me think Nicole was really awesome. I bet Nicole would be someone really fun to hang around. Also, I have visited Jasper and I like when people live in places I have visited. I told you, I'm weird.
Have you visited Nicole yet? Do it! Also, let me know if you have any awesome new blogs to share with me.

new to me blogs :: part 2
Last time I did one of these I shared two new blogs that I found and liked. This time I have one for you and I think it is a really great one.
Kitty & Buck.
Kitty & Buck.
How I ended up there:
Shell sent me an email to tell me that she liked my hair curling video. She was so sweet and funny that of course I had to go visit her blog and get to know her a bit better. (and check out her hair!)
What I saw that made me stay:
Obviously I love colourful hair, pretty photos and cats so that got me hooked. Shell's blog design is also very simple and pretty which is a bonus. I have been chatting with Shell through email and her personality is what really makes me stick around. I really like the way she writes on her blog as well, it sounds very conversational which I love.
Have you found any new blogs lately? Care to share?
PS. The winner of the Up to the Moon prize pack is Sequins!
Thank you so much to Chantilly for hosting the giveaway and congratulations again on the new album!

new to me blogs
There are seriously so many great blogs out there that I feel like I could discover and love a new one each day. Usually what happens is this: I find a blog I really like and I say to myself "You need to remember this blog", then a few days later I say, "What was that new blog I liked?". In an effort to give my poor memory a break I have decided to share a few new blogs that I have found and been into every so often. Here are two to get this party started.
Diversions
How I ended up there:
Stefanie left me a comment praising my boat naming ability and I followed the link to her blog. If I think you like Arrested Development I will probably visit your blog. That's the ♥elycia guarantee.
What I saw that made me stay:
Stefanie is a fancy nail painter and a colourful dresser so already that earns her bonus points in my books. I absolutely love the way that she edits her outfit photos (no there aren't really two of her). Also, Stefanie recently posted a really adorable vlog where she gets all David Bowie in Labyrinth (you know, with the glass balls). And...I am totally crazy about her accent! I want one. I am really happy I stumbled across Stefanie's blog!
Wild Olive
How I ended up there:
I saw Mollie's adorable button on Thursday's blog and I just had to pop over.
What I saw that made me stay:
I am crazy about Mollie's simple and super pretty blog design. Also, this tutorial is just so adorable! I really love the photography on Mollie's blog, it just looks so bright, and clean which makes me want to look at everything she is posting no matter what it is.
I hope to share a few more blogs as I stumble across them. Have you found any blogs lately that you really love?

just reminiscing
Yesterday I spent a good majority of the afternoon tidying up my blog labels so that they could be displayed in some sort of organized manner over in my left sidebar. Doing this involved revisiting a lot of early blog posts which induced quite a few shakes of my head (both up & down and side to side), rolls of my eyes and laughs of my mouth. That last one didn't really work but you get me, right?
It was so interesting to look back at old posts and see how I have evolved as a blogger and changed as a person over these last two years. Not totally changed, just little things. It was fun to remember small details that I forgot and kind of relive some moments from my past. Although sometimes is was slightly embarrassing to look at, it was mostly just entertaining and motivating. It makes me wonder where my blog will be in a few years and how I will feel when I look back at these posts.
Looking back also reminded me that getting to where I am today in terms of my writing style, my photos, the types of things I blog about was a process. It definitely didn't happen instantly and it was really neat looking back at my journey.
Some especially cool things I enjoyed looking at were my first video & my first outfit post.
I also realized that I miss my light pink hair like crazy!
I know I said I was finished with bleaching but come on! I think I need this hair again. I promise I won't try to get it from black to pink by myself. ;)
Looking through my old blog posts reminded me of another reason why I love blogging. I am not good at keeping a journal so this blog is the way I am going to remember things that were going on in my life at certain times. How cool is that?
Have you taken some time to look back at some of your first posts? How do you feel about your blog journey? If you are a new blogger, I promise it just gets more fun as you go along!
♥elycia
PS. Can you believe it is March 1st already?! If you haven't been there already I highly recommend that you check out My Girl Thursday this morning. Ah! I've already said too much!

Productivity :: my blog planner
I think it is about time to introduce you to someone...err...something very special. Meet my blog planner, aka the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. Let me clarify...this is the best blog organization tool that has ever happened to me.
I used to have dreams of being a more organized blogger (isn't that a normal dream?) but all my previous attempts did not work out too well. Sure, I sometimes scheduled things in advance/wrote down good ideas but I did not have a consistent method of keeping up to date and once in a while I would find myself scrambling to think of something blog worthy. I probably shouldn't admit that, right? ;)
Well, as soon as I saw this little beauty with the whole month laid out on one page with lots of writing space for each day I knew that my blog dreams were about to come true. It is a 2012 calendar but it actually started in December 2011 and I couldn't wait to start filling it with ideas.
I have found that seeing the whole month at a glance is absolutely essential for me to be able to stay on top of things. I used my new little friend for the whole month of December and it has made blogging even more enjoyable for me than it already was. There is a section along the side/bottom for Notes and Things to Remember that I use to jot down things I want to blog about, ideas for DIYs, as well as little reminders for other blog related things that I don't want to slip my mind. My mind can be pretty slippery at times and it has been so helpful to be able to write down anything that pops into my head.
Planning what I want to post about has been helping me to be more productive. This is very important to me now that I am working from home. I want to maximize every minute! When I look at my planner I see what I want to post about on certain days and I can make sure that I have all of the appropriate projects done/photos taken with plenty of time. Also, I can work on multiple posts at once or pick and choose what I feel like working on that day. Scheduling my DIY posts in advance has actually been the most helpful thing to make sure I complete them. I love making things and this is helping me set aside the time to do so.
An added bonus to being more organized is that it makes me more creative. When I am not worrying about what I am going to blog about that day my mind has more time to wander. I think of my best ideas when I just let my mind wander. I make sure that I always have some way to record my ideas and then I make sure I transfer them to my blog planner.
In case you can't tell, I really love my blog planner. I am planning on making myself one just like it for next year. The only problem with this one is that it is not that cute so when I make my own I will fix that.
Do you have some way of staying organized blog or otherwise that you love?

Vlog :: What I'm up to these days
Thank you elycia from the past, I am having a good day! Man, I was awkward in this video though. Yikes! You will be happy to know that I am pretty much used to and comfortable with my new situation and I couldn't be happier.
Today we are off to a wedding and I am pretty excited. I got a dress what feels like forever ago and I can't wait to wear it! I'm also excited about the actual wedding, not just my dress.
Anything exciting going on in your life? Changes, new deveopments?

blog crush :: a blog by danielle thompson
I have always loved Danielle's blog but I am extra obsessed with it at the moment. I am becoming very interested in home decor and I absolutely love Danielle's style.
I am totally crazy about every 'Vintage Love' post that Danielle does.
And, she has some of the prettiest and best dressed Blythe dolls!
So yeah. I'm totally in love and I'm not afraid to admit it. The inspiration folder on my computer consists of Danielle's blog address. (ok, not really...but wasn't that a good joke? ok, not a good joke...whatever, I think I'm funny).
If you don't already stop by Danielle's blog regularly you should totally change that! Looking at it just makes me so happy!

what i did > in ohio!
Oh my goodness. Ivan and I had such a fun time with Kaylah and Kevin this past weekend. They know how to show their guests a good time.
You can't really beat a weekend full of cute kitties (who are so well behaved by the way...totally wanted to bring a few home).
Our hosts took us to so many fun spots, cooked us super yummy food and were just so fun to hang out with.
I really wish we were neighbours so that we could do this more often!
As Kaylah mentioned, we took tons of jumping photos! Ivan and Kevin got to play guitar together which was really sweet. And see, Doc totally wanted to be packed into my luggage! ;)
It makes me so happy that my blog has given me the opportunity to meet such great people. I feel like the blog community is such a great thing to be a part of.
I can't WAIT for the next time we see Kaylah and Kevin!!

What a lovely bunch!! I am accepting sponsors for July if anyone is interested. More info can be found here, or feel free to email me at loveelycia[at]gmail[dot]com. I truly appreciate all of my sponsors, thank you guys so much!

Help Daisy!!
Hi friends,
Zoe from A Giraffe in a Scarf is doing a little fundraising to help pay for her sweet kitty Daisy's vet bills. You can go here to read the story of what happened. I hate to even think about how upset I would be if something like this happened to one of my fur babies. I know a lot of you are animal lovers and crafty people so if you feel like skipping your morning Starbucks and donating a bit of money to help a fellow animal lover then you can go here. You could also visit Zoe's Etsy shop and support her that way. We crazy cat ladies need to help each other out :)

Blog Land
There are a couple really exciting thing going on in blog land that I want to mention. Probably a bunch of you already know about this stuff but if you don't then I guess I'm being helpful, right? ;)
1. Red Velvet Kickstarted Project!
Elsie and the gang at Red Velvet want to reach their goal!! Help them out if you can. I donated the first day (nerd) cause I'm so excited to see what they have in store for their next dress line!
2. ModCloth Blogger of the Moment
My blog (and real life!) friend Kaylah is the blogger of the moment! I am so excited for her! You should definitely read her interview!!
3. My Girl Thursday (yes that is a category all on it's own)
My blog friend (and hopefully one day real life friend) Thursday reached 1000 GFC followers and is planning a huge party next week! (well blog party that is!)
AND reopened her etsy shop, all in the same day!
4. Toronto Blogger Meetup!
Ok, yeah yeah, I already mentioned this...but now Julie has some possible dates suggested so you should definitely pop by and see if you can make it!
So, yeah, lots of exciting stuff going on in the neighbourhood. Do you have anything exciting that you want to share in the comments?
